We caught up with Reid for an update on the Redeemer Residency and what’s happening with both our first- and second-year residents!

We love getting to invest in these men as they grow in their love for Jesus, are formed through life in the local church, and become better equipped for a lifetime of faithful ministry. We’re so grateful for each of them, and for the churches and leaders who make this kind of investment possible! Take a minute to hear how it’s going!

That’s a wrap.

Fargo 2026 is officially in the books, and with it comes the end of my high school wrestling career.

Looking back, one thing I’m most proud of is that I toed the line every chance I had. Every chance I had to compete at the highest level, I took it. I could have ended my high school career after the state tournament in March and started preparing for college, but I knew I would always wonder, “What if?” I never want to live with any regrets. I wanted one last opportunity to see what I could do on the biggest stage. Whether the result was what I hoped for or not, I’m thankful I stepped on that line one more time.

More than anything, I’m thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Every opportunity I’ve had to compete, every door that’s been opened, every victory, every setback, and every lesson along the way has been a gift from Him. Wrestling has given me a platform that is so much bigger than myself, and I truly hope that throughout my career I used it in a way that brought glory to Him. My identity has never been found in wins, losses, or rankings. It has always been found in Christ. I’m incredibly grateful that He has blessed me with this amazing life, surrounded me with incredible people, and allowed me to chase the sport I love for His glory.

Not every dream ends exactly how you picture it, but every experience has a purpose. The victories, the heartbreaks, the early mornings, the long practices, the weight cuts, the injuries, the friendships, and the unforgettable moments have all helped make me who I am today.

To every coach who believed in me, every teammate who pushed me, every training partner who made me better, my family who sacrificed so much, and everyone who supported me along the way, thank you. I wouldn’t be where I am without you.

This chapter is over, but the story isn’t.

The goals are still the same. The work continues.

Next stop: college wrestling.

Go Hokies. 🦃❤️

Where are church planters made?

Not in a classroom alone, but in the life of the local church!

In Episode 2 of Season 3 of the Redeemer Network Podcast, Jordan Elder sits down with Reid Monaghan and Paden Behrens to talk about why we believe healthy churches are the best place to train healthy church planters!

They discuss the vision behind our two-year residency, why preparation matters, and how churches of every size can play a role in raising up and sending leaders for the sake of the gospel.

If you've ever wondered why we invest so heavily in training church planters (or how God uses ordinary local churches to multiply His mission) this episode is for you!

Season 3 continues! Listen wherever you get your podcasts.

Want to know one of the things we love most about our team?

Everyone serving on Redeemer Network staff is actively embedded in a local church!

That means the conversations we’re having about church health, planting, and leadership aren’t theoretical. They are shaped by real sermons, real elder meetings, real pastoral care conversations, and real Sundays.

The network exists to strengthen local churches and our leadership flows out of deep commitment to them.

Over the next few weeks, we’re excited to introduce you to the people who make up the Redeemer Network team: pastors and leaders who are serving their churches while helping strengthen others.

Stay tuned.

2•22•26 - The Start of a New Beginning!
•
I am saved! I’ve chosen to follow Jesus, trust His plan, and live each day in faith knowing I’m forgiven and made new.
•
I can’t thank the amazing people in my life enough for helping lead me to Jesus Christ. My friends, family, and church have shown me love, guidance, and faith in ways that changed my life. I’m beyond grateful for the people God has placed around me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support and encouragement.

We’re thrilled to introduce Reid Monaghan as our new Director of Church Planting which will include his eventual oversight of our residency alongside other leaders. Reid brings 30 years of ministry experience to this role with almost two decades planting churches and serving church planters. He has helped plant multiple churches in the state of New Jersey, served as the Director of Assessments for the Acts 29 US South Central Network, and recently as the architect and residency strategist for the Harbor Network. He and his wife Kasey will celebrate their 30th anniversary this May and they have three adult children: Kayla (24), Kylene (22), and Thomas (19). He is the founder and president of The Gospel Underground and makes his home in Blacksburg, Virginia. Reid’s leadership will strengthen one of the most strategic parts of our work: training church planters for the field. His experience and passion for the local church will help equip residents with the conviction, resilience, and skills they need to plant and lead faithfully for years to come.

The first few months of a new church are full of questions: Will people come? Will this work? Did we hear God right?

In Episode 7, Zach Tharp joins Reid Monaghan to share the highs, challenges, and small miracles of the first 60 days of planting a church.

This one will remind you why new churches matter and how the gospel moves through ordinary faithfulness.
