girls & boys at arlo & esme, october 8, 2008 special launch party for alumni nyc, the t-shirt line raquel reed co-owned - she's the teal hair all over these. g&b did wednesday nights at arlo & esme, the east village coffee shop that turned into a bar after dark (closed 2010). fukk off, mike nouveau, famous friends, rekles, kids with snakes, vdrk and alex english played. Girls and Boys was originally a party, if I remember correctly, that @alexenglishgnb did prior to teaming up with Famous Friends at Arlo and Esme, and then it eventually moved to Webster Hall where it was for, I think, almost a decade, and kind of became the New York City launchpad for dubstep. So I think it went from like a new wave party to an indie dance party to a dubstep party somehow. Does anyone remember the origin pre-Arlo and Esme? anyone still have their alumni tee?

Nicky Digital photography show opening party at Chelsea Market on September 27th, 2007. All 📸 by @nickydigital Last week I posted a few shots I had from this event, go find that post if you want all the details. Nicky was kind enough to send me a link to his collection of photos from the night. These are just a few of the shots he took, there are many more, so maybe we’ll do a round two later. This was free event at the Going Lounge in Chelsea Market. Your DJs for the evening were Lauren Flax and TKOmri. There was an open bar the entire duration of the party and of course, everyone was there.

Last night was truly out of a dream ✨⁠ ⁠ While music making has taken a bit of a backseat recently, I am so grateful to be able to bring you these shows week in and week out. Last night’s ‘Welcomes’ party with Étienne de Crécy, Boombass, and DJ Falcon was pure French House magic.⁠ ⁠ I started down this path in music after hearing Alive 2007 on CD back in 2008.
