Happy to share our new live EP, recorded in concert with Mirjam Avango.

This release features Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for clarinet and piano, FP 184, one of the last works he completed. Written in 1962 and premiered after his death, it has become one of the most loved pieces in the clarinet repertoire. Thanks to @dank.ot for the mastering 🎧

Now available on Spotify and all major streaming platforms.

Three years ago, Silvia Ilves and I started working on Poulenc’s Cello Sonata almost as a personal challenge. Today, it becomes our EP. This sonata has followed us through countless rehearsals, concerts, and cities. It has become the piece that best represents what we do together: the dialogue between piano and cello, the French lyricism, the contrasts between tenderness and fire that Poulenc wrote into every movement.

Releasing this EP feels like consolidating something we have built quietly over the years, one rehearsal at a time. Four movements, one sonata, three years of collaboration.
Thank you to everyone who has heard us play this piece live and asked where to find a recording. It is finally here.

A special thank you to Daniil Kotilevitš @dank.ot and Eduard Reitman @ed.the.reitman , the sound engineers behind this recording. Their care and precision gave this sonata the sound it deserved, capturing every nuance between piano and cello. This EP would not exist without their work.

Denise Fontoura and I recorded this single in Tallinn, Estonia. Two Brazilians who left home after their 18 to build their lives in Europe. We didn’t grow up together, we found each other here in Estonia, the way Brazilians abroad tend to find each other: through music, through language, through the particular kind of longing that only makes sense when you’re far from where you started.
Nelson Cavaquinho and Guilherme de Brito wrote Minha Mágoa decades ago in Rio de Janeiro. But grief doesn’t expire, and saudade travels well. When Denise and I sat down to record this in Tallinn, the lyrics felt less like history and more like a mirror, the ache of distance, the weight of choices made young, the life you built somewhere that was never supposed to be home and somehow became it anyway.
