Relentless means rejecting mediocrity and pushing yourself harder than you push others! 💪🥋

That’s exactly what we do at 5:30 AM every Tuesday and Thursday at The Base Vancouver. Three black belts, all over 40, refusing to slow down, sleep in, or settle for average. We choose to show up, challenge each other, and lead by example. Age isn’t our excuse, and mediocrity isn’t an option. That’s the RELENTLESS mindset!

Today’s work at CTA Hillsboro was about getting comfortable in bad positions, finding the transition, and turning defense into a counterattack without getting caught in the process. We worked no-gi leg attacks and even trained parts of the positions blindfolded—learning to feel the position instead of relying on sight, sharpening my instincts for competition and making me a better instructor.

Big thanks to Professors Shawn and Tracy and my friend Ryan for the rounds and the work today. Keep learning, keep sharpening your instincts, and stay Relentless.

Congrats to all the kids for earning their stripes this week! 💪

These kids have worked hard, showed up and were able to showcase to Coach everything they’ve learned.

What a weekend at Outlaw Martial Arts Academy. Huge thanks to Professor Mike Lance and Coach Lijia for opening their school and allowing me to share the Relentless approach with such a great group.

Mike, the Outlaws, and I share one goal: making sure people have the confidence and skills to defend themselves and those they care about. That’s what this training is really about.

Grateful to Master Carlos Machado and the CMJJ Association, Professor Scott Fitzpatrick, Professor John, Coach David from Mythic Martial Arts, Professor Jordan from Gracie Barra, every Outlaw student who trained, and my wife for always supporting the journey.

I can’t wait to be back in Ottawa. DM me to bring the Relentless approach to your academy.

Im fulfilled from another successful Fall Machado Method Summit weekend. This one was special because of the fact that I was able to bring my family along to spend time with them, create memories and share the experience. Im so excited to have my son join me on the mats in the future!
Next fall I'll test for my second degree and im so excited to have them join me in doing something that has a huge impact on my life. It was also a great experience meeting the First UFC champion Royce Gracie, the whole martial arts world changed the night he won and in turn changed my life as well.

Congratulations to @officialvince_7 for earning your Brown belt and @dhantunez for his well earned Black Belt!

Saturday mornings are for real skills, real movement, and real confidence. Kickboxing self-defense at Five Rings is about learning practical striking, working with different partners, and having fun while building skills you can actually use.

Come train, sharpen your game, and start your weekend Relentless.

Saturday at 8 AM at Five Rings Jiu-Jitsu is about more than boxing and kickboxing — it’s about the original purpose of martial arts: learning how to protect yourself and the people you care about. Self-defense is a skill you can carry anywhere, at any age, for the rest of your life.

My Relentless approach blends striking, BJJ, and practical self-defense for everyone from beginners and adults starting later in life to experienced martial artists and law-enforcement professionals.

Come train Saturday at 8 AM, or DM me for private training or to bring a Relentless self-defense/BJJ seminar to your academy. Build skills for life. Stay Relentless.

🥋🔥 Wondering what our kids’ classes are like?

Jiu Jitsu is a perfect sport for kids with endless amounts of energy!

Learn practical self-defense and grappling skills while also having lots of fun.

Coach Ej has the children warm up before class with some dodgeballs and the kids have a blast.

They also do some running and strength/conditioning exercises before they get into technique every class.

The classes have a great variety of all skill levels, from beginners to those who compete regularly with a nice collection of medals 🏅 💪

Come check us out! We welcome anyone interested to stop by during class times to meet everyone and see just how welcoming the team is 👍
