I got a power up thanks to the @reliable Barracuda Command straight stitch walking foot machine! Y’all! She is an Industrial sewing machine, but home sized!! Me sized!!

I actually have 2 industrial sewing machines collecting dust in my basement right now. Bought years ago at a foreclosure but never even set up because my craft rooms are small and an normal industrial machine would take up way too much valuable space. @reliable’s portable walking foot machine is exactly what I needed!

And I hope you can see from this video what great uses the Barracuda Command offers, way beyond costuming! I got a fancy Cacoon hammock chair for super cheap and realized only belatedly why 😅! Someone broke it, shoddily repaired it, then sold it. Without an industrial sewing machine, this chair would not be have been fixable! But thanks to the Barracuda Command, I get to lay in it every day hehehe

Definitely do some research on @reliable and their line of heavy duty walking foot machines if you sew leather, canvas and other thick materials. Mine is a straight stitch but they also make a zig zag stitch!

Yesterday, Wood-N-Work from Port Hope, took approximately 10 hours meticulously installing their incredible creations - audio equipment console and record storage . Wood-N-Work are truly wonderful to work with and I would strongly encourage anyone who’s looking to do something permanent for their record collection to contact them.

Now I get the joy and fun adding the records and equipment to these masterfully handcrafted creations . Beginning with the NAD C 588 turntable, zaZen I isolation platform and Uberlight Frame light - all Canadian companies, in fact all within an hours drive .

First record I randomly grabbed was “Failed States” by Canadian band, Propagandhi

I had no idea how much I needed better lighting until I had it.

This is the UberLight, and it’s completely changed how I interact with my records. I can actually see dust and debris before I drop the needle instead of squinting under one overhead light. Finding the right groove to drop in on a track is so much easier now too. Small thing I didn’t know I needed, and now I can’t imagine filming or listening without it.

Genuinely couldn’t be happier with this one. Thank you @uberlight for sending this over.

Cutting day with my AccuQuilt GO! Bolt ✂️⚡️

In case you missed it, I’m making a rainbow version of my Blessings Quilt using Space Dye wovens from FIGO Fabrics, and the GO! Bolt makes cutting triangles for flying geese blocks so quick and consistent.

After cutting, I head straight into chain piecing on my sewing machine using a 2.0 stitch length. This step is one of my favorites! I love the simple, repetitive sewing that feels almost meditative once you get going.

Another thing I love about AccuQuilt: how quickly this quilt starts to take shape once all the pieces are prepped. No more spending tedious hours trimming flying geese!
