Darnit! It's that time again of the unnecessary murder of wolves which allows hunters to set traps on the 6th of this month then will run until the 15th of March 2027...😟😟😟😟😟

This absolutely sucks a zillion times more than last year around this same time because the current US presidential administration had signed into law two days ago, removing the endangered species protection that these animals once received....😠😠😠😠😠😠

Off to get a shower, put clean sheets on my bed, refill my BiPap water tank with some "dream shine" aka distilled water and get ready for bed afterward

Night night from my side....

Hope everyone has a safe healthy marvelous Monday night/terrific Tuesday

The wolf being untamed and a symbol of our instinctual world became depicted as a threat in which a false narrative was born. Mirroring societies fear of the ‘wild’.
Not just in animals, but in feminine power, intuition, and freedom.

This became pushed over time, as humans moved toward agriculture, control, and dominance over nature. Myths and fairytales depicted wolves as the villains. Evil. Destructive. Little Red Riding Hood being one of the first, The Three Little Pigs 🐷, Peter & The Wolf…
Causing wolves to be in great danger in today’s age.

I see this false narrative played out as wolves and wolfdogs are killed for simply being misunderstood. Born into a world not safe for them.

RED RIDING HOOD LIED ❗️teaches that it’s not the wolf who’s the danger, but the distortion of truth that painted wildness as evil.

The real historical TRUTH of these animals 🐺 is that we share an ancient deep bond with them. Long before they were demonized, wolves were revered by many early cultures as teachers, protectors, and spiritual kin. We honored their sacred wildness and intuition. Wolves taught humans to hunt cooperatively, care for their young, and live in balance with the land.

I hope this Halloween my costume is a conversation starter. To rewrite this narrative and shed light on these precious creatures.

Wolves don’t deserve to die. Donate to help our advocacy efforts womenforwolves.org/donate. Wolves regulate their own populations and we need to stop destroying our wildlife. As Montana’s slaughter season looms—beginning September 6, 2025—we must be louder than the opposition and stand strong for these keystone beings who keep our ecosystems balanced.

Your voice matters. When calling, emailing, or commenting, try saying:
“I respect your office’s role in managing wildlife, but I urge you to reconsider the upcoming wolf kill quotas—they risk pushing wolf populations into unsustainable territory.”

Get loud. Be heard. Donate to @womenforwolves now to fuel wolf advocacy efforts that truly make a difference.

A recently released 20-year study found that reintroducing wolves to Yellowstone has transformed the park’s entire ecosystem in more ways than previously known. The study, published in Global Ecology and Conservation, highlights that the return of wolves in the 1990s helped curb overgrazing by elk, which in turn led to a 1,500% increase in willow shrub growth along streams. This recovery is so important because these plants provide food and habitat for a wide range of wildlife, including beavers.

Scientists say this is one of the strongest recorded examples of the domino effect a keystone species can have on an entire ecosystem. If there’s one thing to learn from these findings, it’s that when we allow nature to operate the way it was meant to, it can restore balance in ways we didn’t even realize were lost. 🚨 Montana’s 2024-2025 wolf hunting season has finally ended.🚨

297 wolves were hunted down this season—not including those killed illegally or by Wildlife Services.

This year is particularly somber, marking the highest wolf mortality rate in the state since the 2020-2021 season. Despite this bloodshed, Montana continues to expand hunting and trapping policies, ensuring these numbers keep climbing year after year.

@montanafwp insists the population is “stable,” but studies suggest wolves in the region remain at long-term risk of extinction. The wolf hunting policies across the Northern Rockies are egregious and unethical, prioritizing special interests over science and ecological balance.

These numbers aren’t just statistics. They represent families shattered, ecosystems destabilized, and an uncertain future for Gray Wolves in the U.S.
