ELEVATE!

HONOURED TO BE INVITED BY PRO LIGHT & SOUND

ELEVATE was born from trust: trust in the artists, trust in the process and trust in what can happen when we let go of judgement, comparison and the need to control every moment.

Curated, created and choreographed by @mikesnellentertainment for @prolightandsound this was a celebration of artistry in all its forms. Musicians, dancers, creatives and technicians came together to build something collaborative, expressive and entirely alive, with lighting designed to move in harmony with the energy in the room.

There was no hierarchy of expression, no pressure to be anything other than present, and no comparison between disciplines. Just a shared willingness to listen, respond, take risks and allow one another the freedom to create.

Some of Australia’s most sought-after musicians and dancers came together for a one-night-only performance, before DJ Emerald took over and brought the house to its knees.

We cannot wait to grow ELEVATE into something truly special. It feels like we’ve only just begun.

A little slice of the rehearsal room for ELEVATE

I was incredibly fortunate to be invited to create the entertainment for @prolightandsound showcase, ELEVATE, and this experience truly melted my heart and inspired the ‘Artist’s Way’ within - @juliacameronlive

I worked closely with the most brilliant dancers, who entered the room with open minds, generous hearts and a beautiful connection to the creative abundance of the universe. Taking inspiration from a stunning piece I discovered online, we tilted the lens, explored it through our own creative language and made it uniquely ours.

One of my greatest life mantras is: “Leap, and the net will appear.”

That sentiment captures every moment of this process. If I could rewind the clock, I would leap into this room and do it all over again, over and over.

A huge shout-out to the extraordinary team at @scimmdancecompany and @jaylabalcombe … every person in the world deserves to witness your incredible talent. I have no words for your beauty, technique, work ethic and sheer artistic brilliance.

It was an absolute honour to work with every single person in this room.

Thank you to Pro Light & Sound, and especially my wonderful partner in crime, @blaisecosme , for trusting me with your vision.
