On Day 13 of the 2026 Gifting Handmade Makers Showcase Tamara Darragh of @remivailstudio charms us with the last inspirational sewing project for this year’s Gifting Handmade but this post is not our last post for this event—read to the end to find out what’s happening tomorrow!

Make Tamara’s delightful Mary Golden Tote from her Mary Golden quilt pattern and the mini-size Mary Golden Quilt blocks together with her free tutorial on How to Make a Quilted Tote From Any Quilt Block. Trying a new sewing technique for the first time? Needle-turn appliqué, English paper piecing, tatting, pojagi, smocking and free-motion embroidery: 17 Aurifil Artisans just took the leap 🧵

You know that technique you’ve been saving for “someday”? The one with the pattern bookmarked and the supplies quietly waiting in a drawer? This one’s for you.

For our latest Artisan Challenge, we asked our Artisans to pick something they’d never tried, or had been putting off for far too long, and simply begin. What came back was brave and joyful. There was some trial and error, plenty of happy surprises, and every piece was full of heart.

💡A little thread tip if you’re about to try something new: fine 80wt melts into needle-turn appliqué and EPP seams, while 8wt and 12wt let your stitches be seen and celebrated.

Every slide lists the exact weights and colour numbers, so save this for when you’re ready to start.

#sweaterweathersampler2026 This is another block that will be part of a sew along quilt. This pattern was created by Dana @carnelianquilting. I loved the pattern because it reminds me of Fall fields of corn, eggplant and lots of citrus fruits! In Texas, we all look forward to ruby reds snd avocados! Yes, holy guacamole!!

Lots of rain and clouds today made it tricky to get these photos, but I needed to get this quilt shipped off to its new owner! I can’t wait for them to have it in their hands. The bamboo batting and woven fabrics make this quilt so crinkly and cozy! I love the gingham binding they chose. It finishes off the quilt so beautifully!

I love the “Always Together” pattern by @remivailstudio and @peonypedalquilts kits never disappoint. The quilting design is Symmetry by @urban.elementz

Week 6 of the Sweater Weather Sampler is in full swing with @abbymaed and her adorable pattern, Little Fox. I'm in LOVE with this little guy, and the inspiration Abby drew from the constellation vulpecula warms my astronomy-nerd heart. 🌟

This pattern uses a beginner-friendly FPP method for the stars, and traditional piecing for the fox, and is so much fun to make. As is the case with all of Abby's patterns, it is well written and easy to follow with impeccable diagrams.

Just had my tax appt with my favorite lady (@azureskytax).

Yes, yes, I know, don’t come at me, I know they’re late- it’s called an extension.

Anyways, I’m pretty sure she told me I needed to spend more money.

So, if anyone needs me, I’ll be buying more fabric!

Also, check out Meredith’s bookkeeping class on her website. It’s been so helpful for me to learn how to keep my books!!

Hey friends! I wanted to share one more thing about my Scrappy Leaf pillow. 🍁 I used a new (to me) technique to avoid having those pesky, pointy corners on my finished pillow. (Those of you who are home decor experts have likely been employing this genius technique for years.) I followed a tutorial on the YouTube channel: “A Square Pillow Isn’t Square.” 🙌🏻 Nancy’s video called “How to Make the perfect Square Pillow – No more pointy corners” was so easy to follow, and now I have a lovely pillow that looks completely square, sans empty points! The key is increasing the seam allowance gradually at all four corners, as Nancy fully demonstrates in her video. What a game changer! Thanks so much Nancy @sewforhome 🧡

That's a wrap on Paradise Found week for the Sweater Weather Sampler, and what a FUN week it was!! I'm not gonna lie, this pattern is a challenge, and I am so impressed with how everyone tackled it! There were some absolutely gorgeous blocks this week!
