Museum in the Metro: 🤎

This Museum Month, let’s take a closer look at the stories, people, and treasures that make Iloilo and Western Visayas what they are.

Did you know Iloilo’s National Museum was once a provincial jail? 👀 From the Oton Death Mask and precolonial artifacts to Western Visayas’ rich culture and the stories of Ilonggos like Fernando Lopez, there’s so much history waiting to be discovered.

Maybe it’s time for a museum day? 🏛️✨

Because sometimes, the ordinary family days become the ones we remember most. 🥹

What stayed with me most after watching #ForgottenIslandPH was the reminder that, at the end of the day, it’s really the memories we create with our friends and the people we love that matter.

We go through so many phases in life, people grow, things change, and we all eventually find ourselves on different paths. But somehow, the memories we’ve shared stay with us. They become little pieces of who we are.

I guess it made me appreciate the people I get to do life with a little more. To take the photos, go on the random trips, laugh at the stupid things, and just be present—because one day, these ordinary moments might be the ones we look back on the most. 🥹🏝️

That’s what I’m taking home with me from Forgotten Island. ❤️

If you ask me about lechon, I’d always say yes. 😂 And Lechoneria has always been one of my go-tos in the Metro. 🐷

We recently went back and revisited some of my usual favorites, while also trying a few new things on the menu.

Of course, the Lechon Belly had to be on the table. We had the Garlic Labuyo, Paksiw, and Sinigang, plus the Inihaw Liempo Set. Honestly, you really can’t go wrong with a good serving of lechon. 🤤

Then came my favorite part: dessert. 💜 Puto Bumbong, Special Halo-Halo, and Pudding Con Hielo. We also had the Iced Cubees to cool everything down.

Just a very Filipino kind of meal, the kind where you order more than you probably need because everything sounds good. 😂
