As September comes to a close, I’m reflecting on this month’s issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and their feature of our spaces in the 2026 Southeastern Showhouse.

This project was such a great example of how we design at McGhee Studios—bringing our eclectic point of view into a space while still honoring the architecture around us. This home, with its traditional, Parisian-inspired architecture, was no exception.

We leaned into color, art, pattern, collected pieces and unexpected details to create spaces that felt layered, expressive and distinctly ours.

We had so much fun with this home and are incredibly honored to have been a part of the 2026 Southeastern Showhouse. 🤎

come with me to see my favorite highlights from the southeastern show house a couple weeks ago here in Atlanta. The home was absolutely stunning and it was one of my favorites that I’ve seen in many years. Incredible job to all the designers on this project! #southeasternshowhouse #interiordesign #atlantainteriors #atlantainteriordesign #southerndesign

Eighteen+ years into this industry, and I'm standing in a room of 300+ Asian creatives and allies. I have to pause. Oh boyyyy...this is a shift.

When I started, I had no role models, no one who looked like me to learn from. I had to figure it out alone; until I didn't.

But today? There's a new voice. A shifted culture. And I know there's a thriving future for the generation behind me. I'm beyond grateful to witness this, and beyond excited to be part of that voice.

Thank you @aapi_designalliance for bringing something so important AND so needed to this industry. Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far and for a spectacular, emotionally moving event!

Cheers to what's ahead and cheers to being the change! 🥂

It’s a wrap! 🥂

Last night we wrapped the 2026 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Southeastern Designer Showhouse in the best way possible, surrounded by designers, friends, partners, and a lot of great conversation in the showroom.

Grateful for everyone who helped make it such a memorable year.

Feeling incredibly proud and inspired reflecting on the inaugural @aapi_designalliance gala in LA last week. 🤍 The energy throughout the evening was unforgettable.

It’s such an honor to serve on the Atlanta board and be part of a community rooted in culture, connection, leadership, and representation. Seeing so many people fly in from all over to support this organization was truly moving.

A room full of people uplifting one another, celebrating heritage, and creating space for future generations felt deeply meaningful and inspiring.

Proud of my heritage. Proud to be part of this community. And excited for all that’s ahead.

To the designers and community that we worked alongside—

As we close out the final days of the Southeastern Showhouse sharing this space with so many talented designers reminded us why we love this industry.

The creativity, the craft, the eye for detail that every room in that house held. Congratulations to all of the designers who brought their vision to life. We’re grateful to have been part of it.

Showhouse buddies. 🤍 This hallway is one of several spaces designed by the incredibly talented @renee_chiarelli - and trust me, the photo doesn’t do it justice.

The artwork, details, and other pieces on those walls need to be seen in person.

That’s the thing about the @southeasternshowhouse. Every corner has something worth stopping for.

Open through May 10.
