Washington Mardi Gras highlighted what we’re seeing across the state: Louisiana’s momentum is real. A more competitive business climate, growing innovation and strong economic development are putting Louisiana on the national radar.

That’s why LABI is Going for Growth and advocating for the policies, talent and business environment Louisiana needs to keep rising.

This week #ATRI would like to spotlight Renee Amar, Executive Director of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association. Since 2020, when Renee began as the executive director at LMTA, she not only led LMTA to pledge support to ATRI with a financial contribution annually, she is also quick to encourage trucking industry stakeholders to participate in ATRI’s data collection efforts and share ATRI’s research to help identify effective solutions for trucking’s top issues in Louisiana.

We asked Renee why she supports ATRI:

“We are proud to financially support #ATRI due to the invaluable contributions they make to the #trucking industry. Many individuals may not fully grasp the complexities of our sector, which can hinder their understanding of the challenges we face. ATRI plays a crucial role in providing the data necessary to inform lawmakers and other stakeholders, enabling them to collaborate with us in identifying effective solutions to our industry’s issues. “

“We strongly encourage all truckers and their staff to contribute data to ATRI, become more engaged, and support their initiatives in any way possible. Our strength lies in the quality of the data we collect; the more individuals who participate, the more robust and representative our insights will be. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for the trucking industry.”

Renee and Louisiana Motor Transport Association thank you for your contributions to ATRI and your continued support!

Our first stop on this year’s Legislative Dispatch at United Vision Logistics was a success!

We had some great conversations between lawmakers and business owners on the current insurance crisis. Key takeaways include tackling fraud, addressing the rising cost of insurance, and finding solutions to the ongoing crisis.

A big thank you to UVL for their hospitality - looking forward to continuing the conversation and working together for solutions. Thank you State Representative Brach Myers, Blake Miguez, Troy Hebert and Beau Beaullieu, District 48 State Representative for joining us.

Amar: Federal truck excise tax should be repealed

“Repealing the federal truck excise tax has bipartisan support and it would be a major win for highway safety, good-paying manufacturing jobs and the environment.” See link in bio for article. #trucktax ⁦‪

Last night our LMTA Executive Director Renee Stelly Amar and LMTA Members participated in a celebration of Congressman Garret Graves.

We are going to miss the Congressman’s leadership and legislative effectiveness in Washington. Not only was he a champion for our industry but he was a champion for Louisiana. He was the true definition of a public servant and he instilled that in his staff and interns. Congressman Graves did not care who he had to work with to get things done for Louisiana. He was well respected in the halls of Congress and well respected in Louisiana’s 6th congressional district. That is something no one can take away from him.

Congressman Graves, while we don’t know what it is next for you, we know Louisiana will be at the top of your mind. Thank you for all you did for Louisiana and we hope that you are not done!
