This 70lb block of 303 sst started off on the @haas_automation ST-30 now it’s on the UMC-750 using an @helicaltools 1/2 5 flute, mill it has a (.120) corner radius. The mill is stepping down the side wall (3.620) deep to mill out a pocket in the ID. Also had to tap a 1/2-20 hole (3.500) through. I went with an @osgcorporation form tap for that.

Recently students of Mechanical Engineering visited Renishaw Metrology Systems Pune, a global high precision metrology and healthcare technology group, to attend a workshop on Industry 4.0. They learned about the high precision designs, control, reliability, and metal 3D printing.

More silicon bronze machined !
Lot of material removed, C655 is gummier than C360, but the @maritoolusa 3/4” long endmill gave me a nice finish 🙂 had to stop better often you remove the chips.
Look at the MariPool dipping in the bath 🤦🏼‍♂️
And it get weirder when I had to drill 2,5mm hole from the inside, and tap M3 after...

Making an adaptor plate to mount the 8” chuck on the subplate.
I know this is never gonna spin anymore !
MIC6 drop plate, roughed with my favorite @iscarusa endmill, held on double @mmm.usa jaws, final op is mounted on the subplate milled the step concentric to the thru hole.
Dry moly the back of the chuck, screw it down, load it into the machine hold it down with shoulder screws and done.
