ATLANTA ART ADVENTURES 7 ✨ SKELETONS BECOME CHILDREN ✨ 10.17.2026

The weekend’s adventures concluded with @starchildartbytonitaylor, @melrox27, @thats.lees and I supporting the artist talk for Skeletons Become Children, a brilliant group exhibition curated by rEN Dillard @rensworkdotcom. It was moderated by rEN, Tisha Smith @artyoubetter, and Kevin Sipp @kevinsipp1 and each artist had the opportunity to come up and share about their piece and the inspiration from the book Awakening Osiris by Normandi Ellis. @steverallenart has a phenomenal piece in the show, N’Zambi, which was the piece that carried me to these Atlanta Art Adventures and the honor of being his Creative Strategist, as I shared in a previous post. The experience was even more impactful with the poetry performances by @lovelacealice, @pasheena_ and rEN.

Truly grateful that I had the opportunity to see the exhibition a second time and share it with more friends. It was so moving to hear how each artist interpreted their selected passage and brought the powerful parallels of life and death into visual masterpieces while sharing personal stories about how each piece came to be. As a multidisciplinary artist, I am always so intrigued and inspired by what moves a fellow artist, so hearing an artist talk is just as important to me as witnessing the silence in their work. Congrats to all the artists for their contributions and collaboration. This collection was masterfully put together, so kudos again to rEN for his vision.

The exhibition has come to an end, but be sure to follow rEN so you don’t miss the next one.

introducing “realms of light.” created for the “skeletons become children” exhibition, curated by @rensworkdotcom wherein 23 artists responded to selections from normandi ellis’s translation of the egyptian book of the dead, entitled, “awakening osiris.” i chose an excerpt from chapter 51: becoming a light in the darkness. “out of nothing, i return to the white sea foam. i have made an end of things. this is my last concern. i’ve held the striped pebble of love in my hand. i’ve smelled truth in the rain. beyond lies light no darkness knows. i walk to it, through years of pain, lifetimes of suffering, despair that knew no comfort. … i remember the perfume of days, a flower unfurling slowly after a night of anguish. i remember the grapes i shared by the road with a stranger, and after the harvest, twenty black ibis pecking. i’ve found strength in the handle of a hoe, in the warmth of a woman’s brown thigh. these simple graces are the light from which darkness flows away.” #awakeningosiris #egyptianbookofthedead #skeletonsbecomechildren #realmsoflight #porcelain #slipcastporcelain #pebbles #stripedpebbles #calendula #seafoam #ceramicart #ceramicartist #atlantaartist

ATLANTA ART ADVENTURES 1 ✨ WHERE IT ALL BEGAN ✨ 9.11.2026

The opening of Skeletons Become Children, curated by rEN Dillard (@rensworkdotcom) is where it all began! Many thanks to him for the personal invitation, and a special shout-out to my SisStar and phenomenal artist, @starchildartbytonitaylor, for making that connection. 🙏🏾😘

I couldn’t wait to see this show, knowing rEN’s brilliance as an artist and curator, and given the inspiration behind the exhibition: The Egyptian Book of the Dead aka The Book of Coming Forth by Day, which is a core part of my spiritual frequency. So, I rolled up with my sisters, Wisdom, Aje’ and Vonka, to experience the exhibition—and we LOVED it! It’s still on till 10/17 so don’t miss it!

I was especially drawn to a piece I spotted from afar that seemingly carried me toward it, as if by magic. As I floated closer, I questioned the organic nature of the work because it just didn’t seem humanly possible. I had to get even closer. I had to inspect it to convince myself that it was, in fact, a hand-created work of art. And it was! 😱

As an acrylic abstract artist myself, it was undeniable that someone had done this intricate, intentional work line by line, dot by dot. My mind was BLOWN! 🤯

I looked at the label for the artist’s name… Steve R. Allen. Then I asked the closest person to me, “Do you happen to know if this artist is here?” She said yes and pointed him out.

Now, those who know me know that visual artists are celebrities to me. Not musicians, singers, actors, etc.… nah! Mystical minds that manifest their muse into masterpieces that could never be replicated—even by themselves! 😱🎨

Long story long, @steverallenart turned out to be one of the most gracious, down-to-earth souls I have ever met, and speaking with him in that short time was a MASTERCLASS.

By the end of our conversation, I had pictures to prove it 📸 AND an invitation to visit his studio gallery and share some of my work. 😳

A few days later, that happened.

LIKE, SERIOUSLY. 🤩

But that’s another adventure, so stay tuned… ☺️✨

Join this immersive cultural activation & community conversation. The “Egyptian Book of the Dead” is ancient poetry articulating how to ascend through the depths of one’s shadow into our highest self. It guides us eloquently in our understanding of life and death, challenging our perceptions of those concepts. “Skeletons Become Children” does an astonishing job of visually embodying the majesty of this ancient poetry & We’d like to archive our poetry from the now with the same Majesty. This concept activation will create effective conversation of what it really means to be an artist. Freeing, Praising, & Healing with each creation. #fultoncounty #freeevent #poetry #egytianbookofthedead #cultureactivation
