🎸 30 Years of Matchbox 20! 🎶

I won the ticket lottery to a very special one night only 30th Anniversary concert! @matchboxtwenty played their first album, Yourself or Someone Like You, in it’s entirety… and more!

🎤 Frontman Rob Thomas joked about his “hack” 90s song writing (3rd slide/vid). But rightly so, band member Kyle Cook called out Rob’s exceptional and remarkable song writing (2nd slide/vid). I’m very much a lyrics gal, but vocal passion and instrumental composition is still important. MB20 nails it!

🤩 Being totally immersed in the sound/aura of Matchbox Twenty during a live performance is quite powerful for me. As I was emerging into adulthood and dealing with some pretty messed up stuff, I have core memories of their songs matching my experiences… and as cheesy as it sounds… those CDs helped save my sanity/life.

Always… one of my favorite bands.

@matchboxtwenty first album turns 30 this week. Arguably one of the best albums to come out of the 90s and one of the most influential in my life.

Yourself or someone like you was the first CD I ever bought. And there’s not a bad song on it.

@matchboxtwenty : Legendary songs and a voice I could recognize amongst millions (@robthomas). 🫶🏼 Really wish I could see them in concerts. Québec is waiting for you guys. 🇨🇦

My answer: 15 yrs old🤯😉 in 1997 during my first concert at the Hammerstein ballroom in NYC. I was so happily surprised when he stepped up to the mic!

While I wasn’t surprised this time (but eagerly awaiting it), my heart was still overcome with how beautifully and heartfelt he delivers his parts! These voices belong together! And yes, I cried 🥺❤️#mustbelonely #matchboxtwenty #match30xtwenty #hang #yourselforsomeonelikeyou #kylecook

Day ONE of LUMINATE and I’m already wondering… WHAT OTHER COMPANY DOES THIS?! 🤯✨

A private MATCHBOX TWENTY concert?! 🎸🎤 And being THAT close to Rob Thomas?! I mean… COME ON! 😍🔥

But seriously… getting to be part of something where you’re rewarded for helping others, surrounded by incredible people, AND treated to experiences like THIS?! 🥹

Feeling incredibly grateful to be part of this community, this mission, and all the unexpected perks along the way. ❤️

And we’re only on DAY ONE! 🚀

So tell me… HAVE YOU BEEN PATCHED YET?! 👀✨

Here’s to 30 years of my awkwardness with the most amazing group of musicians!🥂
In 1997 I could blame it on being 15….now I have no excuse!
Can’t wait to celebrate @matchboxtwenty next year!🔥❤️
