The deliberate killing of journalists is a war crime. It is also one of the oldest tools of tyranny. Those who seek absolute power understand that silencing truth is as important as controlling territory. When journalists are targeted, it is not only individual lives that are destroyed, but the public record itself.

It is important we remember the martyrs who were killed for refusing to look away, for insisting that Palestinian lives be seen, named, and remembered. We honor them by sharing their work and defending their credibility in a world that calls them the terrorists.

Today marks the anniversary of the First Intifada, an uprising that reshaped the story of Palestinian resistance. It began in December 1987, after an IOF military vehicle killed four Palestinian workers in Gaza.

What followed was a collective shaking off of decades of occupation, injustice, and daily humiliation. The word intifada itself means “to shake off.”

What made this moment unforgettable was who stood at the forefront. The world watched a modern David and Goliath reality unfold, where the “Davids” were often children armed with nothing but stones and their own courage.

These images became symbols not because stones could defeat tanks, but because they revealed the moral truth of the imbalance: a dispossessed people (even its children) facing one of the most powerful militaries in the world.

While Palestinians continue to be starved by israel and the United States, we must do everything in our power to draw attention to this catastrophic crisis, which Palestinians warned us would happen back in March. Did we listen?

Today’s air-drop of aid into Gaza is not a solution nor is it enough. Malnutrition and the long-term effects of forced starvation cannot be undone with a few deliveries. This performance was yet another stunt designed to prolong the suffering and torture of the Palestinian people.

We must understand that nothing will ever truly be enough as long as the Zionist regime exists and Palestinians remain under siege.

So ask yourself, ‘what have I done for Palestine today?’ If the answer is nothing, pick up a sign, print a flyer, raise your voice — do something!

June 13th, 2025 | Global March to Gaza from Egyptian checkpoint

A member of our collective joined over 5,000 international organizers from more than 80 countries in marching to the Rafah border, determined to break the siege on Gaza and deliver life-saving aid to millions of Palestinians being systematically starved by the israeli occupation.

However, upon reaching the first of three checkpoints, the Egyptian military police swiftly blocked all attempts to pass. Participants were forcibly removed from their vehicles and buses, herded into the streets, and had their passports confiscated. The message was clear: Egypt would not let the convoy through.

As organizers waited for hours under the desert sun, Egyptian forces cleared the way—not for aid, but for a Maersk truck, which passed without incident through the checkpoint. Its only possible destination: israel.

The Mask off Maersk campaign has exposed the sinister undercurrent of Maersk’s operations. The company has been complicit in transporting critical components for fighter jets, bombs, and missiles—tools of war used by the israeli military to carry out its relentless assault on Palestinians. While Gaza’s children die from starvation and airstrikes, Maersk profits from the machinery of genocide.

Thousands stood at the checkpoint pleading for compassion, but the Egyptian government turned a deaf ear. Rather than support efforts to alleviate suffering, they aligned themselves with the Zionist regime, actively obstructing aid and enabling war crimes.

Egypt’s complicity in the genocide of Palestinians is undeniable—not only through its closed border and cooperation with israeli military interests, but also in its attempts to suppress international solidarity. Those who speak out, who march, who resist, are met with intimidation, violence and silencing.

But we will not be silenced. From the streets of Rafah to every corner of the world, we bear witness.

Egypt cannot hide behind its borders. History will remember who stood by and who stood up!
