What a joy it was to give a talk on behalf of @labreakfastclub at @resortorama last weekend in advance of the release of the history book I authored! It was so perfect to have @theflamingowiththelaugh as Greeter teaching attendees the secret handshake, and to be introduced by fellow Ham-and-Egger @blazenhoff - with lots of good eggs in the audience singing "Ham and Eggs" and reciting the Cryptogram.

Thanks to @blazenhoff for recommending us and to @xoxobabydoe for having us!

This past Sunday we gathered with members of our community to celebrate an incredible milestone in true @resortorama fashion: the official proclamation of Historic Flamingo Resort & Spa Day by the Mayor of Santa Rosa! 🦩🎉

For nearly seven decades, @theflamingoresort has been part of Santa Rosa’s story. We’re honored to celebrate its history, the people who have shaped it, and the community that continues to make it special.

Last day at @resortorama we were joined by Rob (yay!) and visited the Mid Century Marketplace. I didn’t get many photos as I was so overwhelmed by all the treasures. Hopefully they do this again next year and my mobility will be better so I can explore alllll the things. And lastly, parked outside were an array of vintage cars.

So I guess I *can* do hard things. Achievement unlocked: I am on the other side of my first real public speaking gig!

I’m more of a 1-on-1 conversation kind of gal, so prepping my Resort-O-Rama seminar made my nervous system file a complaint. Talk to a room full of cool people with great taste for an HOUR?! Eep, it said.

Thank you to Baby Doe & Otto for inviting me. It was an honor. Such a smart idea to get community members to share their knowledge, and what a wonderful community it is!

Thank you to everyone who came to see my talk, and to everyone who stopped me all weekend to say it got them thinking about their relationship with stuff. It was also a treat to see my LA Breakfast Club community cross-pollinating with my Bay Area one. I’m so lucky to know so many interesting, delightful and quirky-curious people.

If you saw my talk and it helped you push past emotional inertia and say “smell ya later!” to something charged, I’d love to hear about it.

yesterday was packed with two marketplaces - first @resortorama and then @sacohanahomebartour (i was tired and didn’t get any photos of the latter). in between we were treated to the tastiest lunch at don julio’s (pupusas ftw!) by @misskitschstitch 😋 who wore another stunning ensemble (look at that belt!) that may or may not have benefited from a shag carpet bag? it was nice to see @loreleis_vintage33 again, also selling some @tiki.king.official jewelry.😻 the chocolate tiki mug was impressive!

now to rest up for the long week ahead. my eyes are literally sore, so i need to stay off my phone. xx
