Restaurant Story

It is easy to overlook the importance of stepping outside our own kitchens to collaborate with colleagues. Exchanging knowledge, new perspectives, and inspiration is invaluable. But the unexpected reward is the relationships we build.

For three services, we came together to create something unique and fleeting. The experience is gone almost as soon as it happens, but the relationships and memories our guests and teams share endure.

A huge thank you to Chefs Sellers & Philips, and the entire Restaurant Story team for welcoming us into your home with such generosity and professionalism.

Different kitchens, different approaches, but a shared purpose.

Some people eat dessert. I choose to kiss mine! 💋🎈

My very first encounter with the iconic @alinearestaurant edible balloon…

14 courses. Three extraordinary Michelin-starred chefs…

Grant Achatz @grant_achatz, Tom Sellers @tomsstory and Tom Phillips @chefphillips of @rest_story came together in London for the first-ever Alinea x Restaurant Story collaboration.

An extraordinary evening of culinary artistry, boundless imagination and creativity that pushed every boundary… with a rather playful grand finale 🎈, hosted by the wonderful @darrenlmchugh 🙏

A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. ✨🥂

More photos from the night to come…

#TheWeekThatWas out & about... two 'gigs' presenting on AI, it is really taking over although that wasn't the message; #DTX26 & #AIWeek we're super enjoyable.

Celebrating a brilliant friends new job @rest_story was a great night & I don't want to leave it so long for a return there next time.

All topped off with the most soulful of soulfulness @mtjonesmusic in Shepards Bush.

These snaps are probably terrible photographs, but I just had to post about this one.

Super honoured and privileged to experience a very special collaboration between Grant Achatz of Alinea and Tom Sellers of Restaurant Story.

An absolute killer table of industry legends. Super fun evening, incredible food and first-class hospitality. Not to mention probably one of the best wine pairings I’ve ever had in my life.

Special thanks to Tom Sellers and Tom Phillips. Great to see Darren McHugh on the floor, the perfect host, and a huge thank you to the entire Restaurant Story team.

Pretty special evening. Really, really grateful to have been part of it. Thank you to everyone involved, and to OpenTable and Will Beckett for hosting us alongside so many great guests.

What a night! ❤️🍷

I had the extraordinary privilege of dining last night at @rest_story @tomsstory @chefphillips in collaboration with the legendary @grant_achatz from @alinearestaurant , the very first time Chef Grant has cooked in the UK.

It’s difficult to summarise the immense amount of hard work, dedication and precision that defines chefs of this calibre. @grant_achatz ‘s story is one of resilience and passion which is deeply inspiring even for a trattoria cook such as myself.

Thank you @opentableuki for your outrageous hospitality. What a pleasure to be sat at the table with industry heavyweights, for a 6 hour dining marathon. I’ll never forget this.

Time for service now, time to focus!

The food gets the spotlight. The people make the HiStory.

The talent, the teamwork, the long shifts and the little details that guests might never see.
