Post-Hardcore group Resting in Headlights recently released a new EP called “And I Let the Birds Come to Pick the Flesh”. The EP contains the two singles that the group released last year along with three additional songs. This is post-hardcore filtered through screamo and noise rock with raw emotional lyrics and plenty of angular guitars.

This is the impressive work of Saylor Ruiz, Alex Guerra, Otto Hess, Damian Rodriguez-Rubio, and Grace Johnson. The best moments of the EP come when the beautifully soaring vocals of Grace come in as reprieve from the pounding onslaught of the screams and growls of Damian.

You can catch Resting in Headlights at Casa Cafe (2025 S Western Ave) on August 1st with A Doll for Abigail, xbackstabberx, and At Century Point. They will also be performing at The Nonesuch Zone in Berwyn on August 3rd with eye to eye, Marriage in April, and clear the gap. The band will then head to Gary, IN to perform at Joy Bomb on August 4th with Aelia, CLEARTHEGAP, and Siri Sunshine and the Moonshiners.
