Life is back to normal. I’ve gained the weight back that I had lost, the sunburns have faded away, the climbing gear is clean and back on the gear rack; I’m left with just memories. Memories of something that, just a few years before, seemed impossible. Much of the trip is still unfathomable in the fact that I endured - rather, pushed myself farther than I had ever thought possible. It’s almost as if it didn’t even happen. But these photos and the memories of the friends that I had made keep this expedition alive in my mind and in my heart. 🏔️

26 days ago I could not have imagined a Denali Expedition going as well as this one did. After a couple of days of off the mountain rest and way too much eating I've had a chance to sit and reflect.

We created something special over those 19 days on the West Buttress and a big reason why I didn't want to start this post off with a summit photo. This was my 9th expedition up the big one and over all that time I've definitely learned that for me it's not about the few minutes on the top during a month long journey. It's about the bonds created along the way, the challenge, the glory, the laughs, the sadness, the impromptu guided meditations in the cook tent, the smell of incense, the individuals and their surmounting of incredible odds. It's about so much and yet so little. And that's why it's special.

So here's a compilation of photos (mostly from Tyson, @restlesscrusade ) starting out with where we might have spent the longest time, the cook tent.

I won't soon forget this team, this mountain, this experience that we all shared on the flanks of the tallest mountain in North America. Thanks for letting me lead y'all and I hope to see y'all once again in the snow and the mountains. 💜
