POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

2 years ago today we were out in K-Town filming @laidayvueltamovie and now today the movie is out for you all to see.

Even now I’m still at a loss for words when I try to sum up what being a part of this film has meant to me. K-Town has been my home since I was a kid and getting to help produce and be a part of a movie that showcased the beauty in the city was something special. And to do this with people I call family made it an unforgettable experience. I’ve been doing this with Shan and Byron for years now and every day I consider myself lucky that I get to do this with them and to grow with them as a filmmaker. And to know I will get to continue to do this with them makes me very excited for the future.

Incredibly grateful for all the people i met during this project and to be able to call them friends and family too. La Ida y Vuelta wouldn’t have been the same without you.

And to everyone who has supported us throughout this whole project I just want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. That support has meant the world to me.

Please everyone go watch La Ida y Vuelta! And once again thank you for everything ❤️

Today marks the official release of La Ida Y Vuelta, and the end of a two year journey this film has taken me on. When I joined Retrospective Cinema 9 years ago, I could not have imagined the impact this group would have on my life as a whole. This group has brought new friends and collaborators into my life with every project that I’ve worked on, and it has allowed me to grow, change, and experiment as an artist in ways I previously thought were not possible. La Ida Y Vuelta was no different in this regard , and in fact, cemented some of these relationships into something familial, a found family.

This team made something that was crafted with love for the community of Koreatown, the city of LA, and the people that live there and their stories. I will always be grateful and proud to have been apart of that, just like I will always be grateful and proud to have joined Retrospective Cinema all those years ago and to call Shan and Oscar my friends, amazing collaborators, and my brothers.

While the journey of this film has reached its end, our journeys as film makers are far from over. I can confidently say that La Ida Y Vuelta is a foundation and springboard for all of our stories to come, and for that I am thankful. I hope you all enjoy watching this film as much I enjoyed making it.

I’ll see yall on the next adventure ✌️

A year ago today, we began filming La Ida y Vuelta. It was a special moment in time that neither of us will ever forget 🤎

As our story continues to be shared with more and more audiences, we're reminded how lucky we are to have found the cast and crew that brought it to life. And none of this would even be possible if it weren't for our community that funded this dream.

Thank you all for showing so much love to this Koreatown story ✨

it was a special night in ktown 🌹

seeing us all together like that is something i'll never forget. to all who made it possible, you'll always have a special place in my heart.

thank you to @nakagawa2015 and @koreatown for sharing their time and wisdom with us, and thank you
to lisbette and skylar from myparc @kyccla for giving me the opportunity to work with our youth.

together we didn't just celebrate la ida y vuelta, we filled a space with love, and with your contributions we were able to send that love to 3 on the ground operations feeding, clothing, and healing children and their families in Gaza.

so many moments that lead me here, so many people to thank — “grateful” does not do this feeling justice. i hope we continue building together. here’s to the future 🥂
