616 is an independent presence skirting the edge of formality.
Painting outside the box and over the lines , whilst being inherently human.

Had a trip to Shoreditch to see the latest @_benwakeling_ exhibition. Made possible by @gonerogueldn .
If I could name one artist that paints from the very depths of their soul. It would be Ben. It was extremely beautiful and moving for me and some much needed art brain food.
Was great to meet @donelondon and see old faces such as @stevebaxter69 and @thewalsey . It’s nice to walk into an exhibition and see familiar people.

The hotel is just a soak in the sophistication and dimly lit space. Warm and classy.

Many miles away from the streets of Hackney Wick.

Ben is an extremely humble fella. Go and see the show. Listen to a few interviews with the man and soak it all in.

Making waves with @vinnie_nylon_

@vinnie_nylon_ smashed this wall . I’m not happy with my part. But trust me. Chalking on a rough concrete wall isn’t as easy as it looks. It eats ups the chalk. Definitely need to go simpler with the work. I’ll definitely be heading to a sea wall soon to practice. Then hit him up again. Vinnie is a walking history book and it was great to see exactly where his inspiration comes from. It was an honour to meet this legend.

This superb portrait by @zabouartist is based on a powerful photo taken by @futurehackney during the Black Lives Matter protests in London. Please slide to see various shots of this wall, along with a close-up of the beautiful @akajimmyc piece, which was modelled on an Australian friend of his (bottom left). The JimmyC piece has survived on the @thebellpub since July 2015! 🎨🇫🇷+🇦🇺🌍🇬🇧.
