The Invention of Venom: Art Breakdown 🕷️👅

Today on 60 Seconds with SNIKT, we’re examining the original art for Amazing Spider-Man #316, Page 4.

Todd McFarlane created Venom out of a desire for visual complexity. He found the plain black Spider-Man suit boring to draw and wanted to return Peter to his classic colors. By transferring the symbiote to Eddie Brock, Todd was able to unleash a much more detailed, monstrous aesthetic.

Art Breakdown: This page is a clinic in high-contrast rendering. Todd utilizes deep black ink bleeds with white highlights to give the symbiote a reflective, liquid texture.

His aggressive line work on Eddie Brock’s face conveys a sense of raw instability that redefined how we visualize comic book villains.

🚨 ANNOUNCING 🚨

My first ever LOCAL non-comic-con Comic Book Sale!

In addition to tonight’s regularly scheduled program (live here on IG), I will be doing a sidewalk sale here in Providence, this Saturday 10/28! 10am-2pm or later, depending on demand!

Come dig through back issue bins, as cheap as $2, $1, $0.50 per book! Slabs, key books and Funkos will be available as well.

Location will be outside of the building at 62 Dike St in Providence (Olneyville).

Looking forward to meeting some local comic folks and making some great deals for cheap books! Gonna be a beautiful day!

If you know any folks in the greater Providence area, please tag em and/or send them my way! 🙌🕺🤙

The second most over used and absolutely abused word in the “community “ of comic book “Family”

Don’t believe for one second these “influencers” believe you are comicfam! Or comic community.

Just wait until you need something from them. Or your wallets dry up.

Please list the excuses you have received from your “family “ in the “comic community “ or the brush off you got when you meet them in real life . Just curious? It could just be me. But I think I am right on this one😕😎
