Watched this one tonight not a great one. But a real popcorn movie. A lot of action included.

Popcorn movie all over. I really enjoyed it. Some plots changes that I didn't expected. You have to see it.

I'm wishing everyone a #happynewyear and saying thank you, as well. I just started on this app a few months ago & I've felt welcome since day 1. I've even managed to get over 500 followers in that short amount of time (to me) with all my clothes on and without dancing. 😂

Seriously, I hope you all have a great #2022 #happynewyear2022

MOVIE REVIEW | 2021

Mortal Kombat is directed by Simon McQuoid and stars Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, and Josh Lawson as MMA fighter Cole Young seeks out Earth's greatest champions in order to stand against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. Just to provide a little context and backstory here, I was a huge fan of this franchise as a kid, both of the early console games and the 1995 movie. I loved the characters and just being in that world was super cool to me at the time. I would even go as far as to say that the mid-90s film may just be the greatest video game based movie of all time, which isn't saying much. So when I also tell you that this may just be, technically, the greatest Mortal Kombat movie of all time, just know that that isn't saying much either.

I thought this movie starting off extremely strong and very promising in its opening sequence. Great action and some character building and depth that I really did not expect from this at all. Unfortunately though, that's pretty much where it ended and what we got in the proceeding 90 minutes was almost entirely what I expected and anticipated from a cheesy, action infused video game franchise film. All style and no substance. And from this point on there is a very clear choice that needs to be made that will ultimately affect your enjoyment level of this film. Either you embrace the cool action, badass set piece moments, and gory fatality fun or you get hung up on silly things like plot, characters, and performances. Your choice? I chose to watch this movie with the same little 10 year old brain that I watched the 1995 version with 26 years ago and I think I enjoyed it much much more then I would have otherwise. And watching it at home on HBOMAX instead of paying to see it in theaters also helped.

At the end of the day this movie isn't perfect, in fact no where near, but there is a lot to like here. I liked that they actually gave character to Scorpion and Sub Zero. The CGI and fight sequences were very well done. Kano was a real standout player here, until his dumb story arc later in the movie. This did lack some of the.... ⬇️

HBO MAX/WARNER BROS RELEASES RANKED!

1. JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH
2. GODZILLA VS KONG
3. ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE
4. MORTAL KOMBAT
5. THE LITTLE THINGS
6. WONDER WOMAN 1984
7. TOM AND JERRY

Now that we have a fair amount of @HBOMAX @WBPICTURES movies that have been released for our theatrical and home viewing pleasure, I thought I would start a ranking of all the releases so far! Regardless of how I feel about some of these movies and how some felt about the decision, I'm very thankful to HBO and Warner Bros for allowing us to view these movies at home through these very uncertain times. It made the Tom and Jerry crap pill much easier to swallow that's for sure. Lol.. What are some of your favorites? How would you rank them?

Ever wondered about impressions of how older physical media movies upscale to 8k? YouTube picture quality can't show it all, so I decided I wanted to make a YouTube channel providing impressions on movies from my collection. Several uploads today and more in the future.

Please visit my new YouTube channel HomeMovieCollections8k found in the bio link!

Thanks for the support!
