That’s a wrap on LUNA’s 2026 season.

This year brought new choreography, guest artists, professional training, masterclasses, LUNA Youth Company, performances, and another season of building professional dance opportunities here in Lancaster.

At the center of it all is the same mission we started with: creating a place where dancers can continue training, performing, and growing professionally while helping contemporary dance become a lasting part of our region’s artistic community.

Thank you to every dancer, teacher, choreographer, audience member, student, sponsor, and supporter who helped make this season possible.

We’re heading into the off season, but there’s still plenty ahead. Stay tuned for updates, classes, opportunities, and what’s next for LUNA.

Did you know Lancaster was once the capital of the United States?

On September 27, 1777, the Continental Congress met in Lancaster after leaving Philadelphia, making Lancaster the nation’s capital for one day. This Saturday, Lancaster Capital Day brings that history to life while celebrating the people, culture, and organizations that continue shaping our city.

For LUNA, that makes this weekend feel especially meaningful.

From our first performance in the studio, to rehearsals, winter intensives, guest artists, new choreography, and now our sixth season, we have been building our own small piece of Lancaster’s artistic story.

Lancaster has a long and rich cultural history, and as LUNA continues to grow, we hope professional dance can leave its own imprint on that story too.

These photos are a look back at where we started, what we have built, and the people who have helped us get here.

Spend Saturday enjoying Lancaster Capital Day, then join us at The Ware Center for ROOTED.

ROOTED feels especially fitting for the day: a performance about identity, influence, foundations, and how understanding where we come from can help shape where we go next.

Company Artist Reva shares the piece she’s most excited to perform at ROOTED, what makes it special to her, and what she hopes audiences will take away from the performance.

Every dancer experiences these works differently, and we love hearing what the season looks and feels like from their perspective.

Soon, it’s your turn to experience it.

I wanted to explore “the collective”; forgetting the individual and seeing the whole. I think this piece and this shoot really tries to capture that idea.
This piece premiered at the Ware’s First Friday program and absolutely blew the audience away!
Come see Rooted September 26 at the Ware Center and experience this powerful piece 💪

Huge thank you to Jovick for coming to teach his floor work class last weekend!
We had a ton of fun and hope this isn’t the last time he comes through!
Make sure to come out to our last two masterclasses; these might be your last opportunities to train at the highest level professionally in Lancaster!
