POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Top 9 of 2021 followed by a picture from our 100th and final hike of 2021 and pictures from 2021 that I never posted, but wanted to throw in there. I also included my step stats for the year. After a late push I reached my goal of averaging over 12k steps a day by the end of November and cruised through December to maintain that number.

As for thoughts on the year. Well….. 🤔 It wasn’t what I expected, but I don’t have any complaints. After hiking every day in 2020 it certainly wasn’t as exciting, but at the same time I got to see some pretty awesome places. Some that I’ve never been to before and some were old favorites. I didn’t have a particular number of hikes planned, but realized on December 30th that I had taken 99 non disc golfing walks in nature so it was fun to reach the century mark on the last day.
I feel happier with my relationships and myself and will continue to make positive healthy choices for myself mentally and physically. I firmly believe in the “use it or loose it” mentality for physical health so there will be plenty of more hiking in 2022.
If I had to give my 2021 a name it would be “the year of disc golf.” I played over 260 rounds of my new favorite hobby. It has become such a big part of my life that it will get its own post on what it’s been for me in 2021. @fatboyzdiscgolf
Thanks for following along and sharing all of your great posts as well. I look forward to more adventures in 2022 and seeing all of yours as well. Happy New Year to my Instagram Fam and may your 2022 be whatever you need it to be. 🙏

Thanks to @revivearcher Deanna & Brian for taking Kristen and I kayaking on the Big Walnut last Sunday. It was a relief to be on the river on another hot humid day in Ohio, and to be with good company while there.
My intention was just to have a good time kayaking while meeting some new people. Then a Blue Heron flew over my head and landed in front of us making sure it was seen. Blue Heron is one of my totems and tend to show up when I need to listen to my inner voice. While Kristen and I enjoy our Sunday hikes together we have often discussed wanting some type of nature based fellowship in our lives. I have expressed the desire to hike with more of you on Instagram, but with COVID and a lot going on in our lives that hadn’t been happening. The real reason is because I haven’t made any plans. It’s easier to wake up on Sunday and see where the day may take me, but that doesn’t work if I want to include others. If I truly want to experience the outdoors with more people then I’m going to have to make the effort and schedule the time. Time to open the calendar and to start making some plans.

What does being outside and do for you? Taking a bonus day to explore areas near home. Moment by moment. Nature implores us to rejoice with them at the expanse of our Creator! With every movement of wind, trickle of water it’s worship and thankfulness to Him, to be alive! If you’ve not stopped to be still and listen, do it soon! You are welcomed to join the symphony. #natureismychurch #worshiplifestyle
