PUEBLO VIEJO trailer is live ✨💚

In a 1970s Mexican village, a boy’s first night out with his father at the local cantina forces him to face the dark truth of manhood in a place like Pueblo Viejo.

Set against the memory of a real village in Sinaloa, Mexico, “Pueblo Viejo” explores how far a boy will go to outrun who he is, just to feel worthy in his father’s eyes.

To my loveliest collaborators, actors & crew, thank you for bringing so much of yourselves to this project. Your craft shines and beats through every frame of the film.

Shooting this in two days was a feat, and I wouldn’t have asked for it any other way. I’m so proud of the challenges. I grew… thanks to you all who stood by me every step of the way.

Feeling incredibly proud and grateful to have been part of Pueblo Viejo, a beautiful period piece written and directed by @uhhndrea at Tyler Perry Studios, as part of the Tyler Perry Dream Collective.
Projects like this mean so much to me, not only because of the incredible people I had the opportunity to work alongside, but because of what it represents. Seeing Latino stories, culture, and people represented on screen matters. Our history, our experiences, and our voices deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

I’m honored to be a small part of telling stories that help create more space for Latino representation and remind us why authentic storytelling is so important.

While prepping another Tyler Perry Dream Collective film, I got asked to meet with Andrea McCracken about costume designing Pueblo Viejo.

I read the script...

A Spanish-language period piece about vampires, family, and legacy?

A girl walks into a cantina… and a dream comes true ✨

For the past year, I’ve been sworn to secrecy under the Tyler Perry Studios Dream Collective. Out of 1000 filmmakers, I am incredibly honored to be named one of the 5 Grand Prize Winners. Last night, we finally gathered for a private screening of my short film, PUEBLO VIEJO.

To my fellow winners, Marjan, Shawn, Kaelo, and Hisonni, watching your work was an inspiration. We are forever bonded and cannot wait to see you shine on.

This film wasn’t just a “short” film; it was a promise to push ourselves and build deep connections with our stories and the people who helped make them. I am FOREVER grateful to the TPSDC team, the village who poured their hearts into making this story a reality, and bringing to life a story about a boy and his father at a Mexican cantina on the TPS lot 🥳🍿💚

My love, David, thank you for experiencing all the highs and lows of this crazy adventure by my side. You’re my rock and truly, the only opinion that matters.

Mi familia: mama, papa, abuela, hermano, tios y tías. Los amo. Ustedes me inspiran a contar nuestras historias, y con orgullo llevo nuestro nombre y de dónde venimos en cada proyecto.

started off strong with an incredible working actor workshop @getscenestudios , then danced the night away with my gorgeous friends and ended the weekend celebrating my gal @haleylsanders film premiere! grateful for community not just in our industry, but also for the friendships it creates 🫶🏼
