10 awards. An evening I’ll never forget. 🤍

Homesmith Design came home from the 2026 ICONIC Design Awards with five ICONIC awards, two Golds, and three Silvers—and I’m still taking it all in.

Nine awards went to Caballo and one to Wardance, two projects we completed in 2025 that hold so much creativity, collaboration, and heart.

To my incredible team: thank you for your talent, your hard work, and the excitement and tenacity you bring to our most ambitious projects. You embrace the big ideas and work through the countless details that make them possible. Sharing this recognition with you means so much to me. @_kaaitlynnn & @jennaaacuriel

To our project partners—Fenn Rogers Custom Homes @fennrogers_customhomes, Silverstone Construction @silverstoneluxuryhomes, Worth Development, and Rezio Pros—thank you for your expertise, craftsmanship, and collaboration in bringing these designs to life. There are so many hands behind every finished space, and we’re grateful for yours.

Thank you to ICONIC LIFE magazine for an unforgettable evening at the Phoenix Art Museum, and to all the sponsors, including Monogram Appliances, who helped make it possible.

A dream came true this week.

I’ve spent years combing through the pages of Architectural Digest, saving projects, studying the work of designers, architects, photographers, and craftsmen whose talent seemed larger than life. Seeing one of our projects featured in its pages is a moment I’ll never forget.

What makes this recognition so meaningful is knowing how many people helped bring this home to life.

The incredible homeowners who trusted us with a vision that wasn’t always the obvious choice.
Fenn Rogers, who brought us into the project and introduced us to clients who were willing to embrace bold ideas and trust the process.

My talented design team, who lived and breathed this project for years. They obsessed over details, pushed ideas further, solved problems, and never stopped looking for ways to make this home more beautiful, more functional, and more meaningful for our clients. This recognition is a reflection of their dedication and talent as much as anyone’s.
Worth Development, who executed our outdoor design so beautifully.

The craftsmen and artisans who poured their heart and soul into every detail, from the stone fabrication and custom cabinetry to the plaster work, tile installation, furnishings, and countless details throughout the home.

And photographer Joshua Caldwell.

Joshua reached out after seeing this project on my stories and asked if he could photograph it. After spending a few minutes on his website, I remember thinking, “There is no way this guy wants to photograph one of our projects.”
Talk about a pinch-me moment.

The images in this feature are a testament to his incredible talent and ability to tell the story of a home.

Caballo has always been a special project to me.
A home with incredible bones, wonderful clients, talented collaborators, and the opportunity to create something deeply rooted in its architecture, setting, and history.

Today I’m feeling incredibly grateful.

To our clients, our team, our partners, and everyone who played a role in bringing this home to life, thank you.

This one means more than you’ll ever know. You can read the entire feature in AD Poland from my link in bio and my stories!

Everyone saw a tear down.
We saw something else and that made all the difference.

The asymmetrical rooflines, the fully glazed walls overlooking Camelback Golf Course and the beehive fireplace. The unmistakable spirit of 1970s architecture.

Those became our clues.

Instead of stripping the house down and starting over, we used those elements to guide what came next.

Like new breeze block.
Saltillo tile.
Walnut cabinetry and paneling.
Bold color.
Pattern.
Texture.

Every decision we made strengthened the character that was already there.

I think that’s where a lot of renovations go wrong.
A home ends up feeling disconnected from itself.
The architecture tells one story.
The finishes tell another.
The furnishings tell a third.
The homes that stay with you feel cohesive. Like everything belongs together.

This month, Caballo was featured in Architectural Digest Poland.

The recognition is exciting, but what I’m most proud of is that the finished home still feels rooted in the things that made it special from the beginning.

If you’re renovating, save this:
The best design ideas are often hiding in the architecture you’re already standing in.

✨ LUXE RED Award Winner ✨

Honored to share that HSD won Best Renovation / Restoration in Arizona for our Caballo Project in Paradise Valley, a luxury home renovation we won’t soon forget.

Celebrating in Chicago last night alongside the incredibly talented designers, architects, and product designers from across the country made this recognition even more meaningful. Being in that room was something special.

A heartfelt thank you to @jilleditsluxe and @luxemagazine for hosting such a beautiful evening and for selecting our project as a winner among 2,300 submissions. Truly an honor.

Still taking this one in.

This project was never just about the design. It was about trust. The kind of trust that allows a team to push, refine, and create something truly special.

To our incredible clients, thank you for believing in us and for allowing us to bring your vision to life in such a meaningful way.

To our builder, @fennrogers_customhomes and every partner who touched this project, your craftsmanship and collaboration made all the difference.

And to my team, this one belongs to you.
Kaitlynn and Jenna, the level of care, creativity, and detail you both poured into this project is exactly what makes our work what it is. You can feel it in every corner of this home.

Feeling incredibly grateful to be recognized at this level and to do this work with people we respect so much. What a night. ✨
