What a way to kick off Afrimax Summit!

Day One was filled with great conversations, fresh ideas, new connections, and the kind of energy that reminds you why we started this journey in the first place.

Our speakers and panelists brought so much to the table as we explored leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. From sharing personal experiences to challenging the way we think about Africa’s future, every session gave us something to reflect on and take home.

But honestly, what made the day special was seeing people from different backgrounds, countries, and experiences come together with one thing in common: the desire to see Africa grow and do better.

That’s what Afrimax is all about. Creating a space where we can learn from one another, build genuine relationships, explore opportunities, and turn conversations into action. Because a more connected Africa starts with us. 🌍🤝

Big thanks to our amazing speakers, panelists, partners, and every delegate who showed up and made Day One what it was.

And if you think this is all we have planned, just wait! 👀 We’re only getting started.

This is Afrimax Summit 2026, and the journey toward a more connected, collaborative, and borderless Africa continues!

MEET OUR SPEAKER FROM NIGERIA, KING PRAIZZ 🇳🇬

Africa has so much potential, but how much more could we achieve if we worked together, shared ideas, and created opportunities beyond our borders?

At the Afrimax Summit 2026, we are excited to welcome Ogunmoyero Moyinoluwa Awujoola, popularly known as King Praizz, from Nigeria!

Moyinoluwa is a media executive, journalist, communications strategist, and entrepreneur with over eight years of experience in the media and communications industry. She is the Founder and Executive Director of KP Media Network and Publisher of KP Magazine Africa & Diaspora, where she works to amplify African voices, celebrate our achievements, and connect people making a difference across the continent and beyond.

At Afrimax Summit 2026, she will speak on:

“Turning Pan-African Collaboration from an Idea into Action.”

Her topic speaks directly to what we are building at YAA Foundation. We believe that Africa’s growth shouldn’t happen in isolation. We need to connect our people, support one another’s ideas, create opportunities across borders, and give young Africans the chance to learn, collaborate, and build together.

That is what Afrimax Summit is all about: bringing people from different countries, backgrounds, and industries into one space to share experiences, build genuine relationships, and explore what we can achieve together.

And for us, it doesn’t end when the summit is over. Through mentorship, skills development, tourism, cultural exchange, and future collaborations, we want these connections to grow into real opportunities and lasting impact.

We are delighted to have King Praizz join us for this important conversation, and we look forward to the ideas, experiences, and perspectives she will bring to the summit.

There is something powerful that happens when Africans tell their own stories.

That is why we are excited to welcome Rafiki Afrik as a partner and Collaborator for the Afrimax Summit 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Rafiki Afrik is a youth-led media and advocacy platform creating spaces for real African conversations conversations about entrepreneurship, young founders, leadership, innovation, identity, and the dream of a truly borderless Africa. Through storytelling and meaningful discussions, they are helping shape a new narrative about Africa; one driven by Africans themselves.

@yaafoundation shares that same belief.

For years, we have worked to create opportunities for young Africans through skills development, entrepreneurship, leadership and Pan-African collaboration. Because we believe Africa grows faster when young people connect, learn from one another and build together.

That is exactly what Afrimax Summit is about.
Afrimax is a space where ideas become partnerships, strangers become friends, and young Africans from different countries come together to create something bigger than themselves.

This partnership with Rafiki Afrik is a reminder that Africa is full of amazing stories, bold ideas and young people doing incredible things and we simply need more spaces to connect and amplify them.

From Cameroon to Kenya, this is what a Borderless Africa looks like.

Welcome to the Afrimax family, Rafiki Afrik. Let’s create conversations that inspire action and stories that bring Africans together.

At what point does “support African” become “buy African”?
This question came up again and again in our recent conversations @rfk_afrik
1We love the idea of building African brands. We celebrate the entrepreneurs. We tell each other to support our own.
But perhaps we need to ask a harder question:
Are we building brands that people are asking us to support, or brands people genuinely want to buy?
There is a difference.
Support can come from goodwill.
Buying comes with expectations.
When I spend my money, I expect quality. I expect consistency. I expect value. And when something goes wrong, I expect accountability.

Building the Africa we want requires us to become more honest about what is and what isn't working.
Consumers must be able to say, “I love what you represent, but this product isn't good enough,” and brands must be able to hear that without interpreting every criticism as an attack on African enterprise.
Because feedback isn't necessarily rejection.
Sometimes, feedback is participation in the building.
Maybe this is the next stage of Afro-optimism:
Not blindly believing in what is ours.
But believing in it enough to question it, improve it, hold it accountable and ultimately make it better.
We don't just need African brands.
We need African brands we can trust.
And that trust will not be built through slogans.
It will be built, one product, one customer, one correction and one promise kept at a time.
At Rafiki Afrik, we create conversations that move from mindset to practical solutions.
So perhaps the question isn't simply:
“Will you support African brands?”
It's:
“What would make you choose them without being asked?”

Afro-optimism is more than a mindset. It is a sense of responsibility. 🌍

A responsibility to understand who we are, where we come from, and what we are capable of.
At Rafiki Afrik, we are building understanding and connecting the dots between our different realities, conversations and experiences.

Because maybe this isn’t about becoming something new.
Maybe it’s about recognising what we’ve always been.
Thinkers. Builders. Creators. Dreamers. Problem-solvers.
And taking ownership of the Africa we want to see. 🌍✨
