I’ve been going back through everything I created last year, and it became more apparent how crippling my “posting paralysis” has gotten!!! I experience a wave of emotions after creating beautiful art, mainly ecstatic, but then anxious. Social media ruins the way I look at my art now. Is this the “right” cover photo? Will anyone even “like” it? Do my clients like it? Does it “match my feed” right now? Does anyone even like my style? Is this my niche? Should I niche down?

The combination of imposter syndrome, intrusive thoughts, and social media expectations can be exhausting to say the least, and I’m working my way through it all constantly (and I know many artist friends doing the same!)

I shoot everything from real estate, to families and fashion, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with not niching down. Every type of photography offers lessons and learning curves.

I do have to say though, maternity portraits are really up there with some of my favorites to photograph 🥺💕 especially this day with @rhiimixed

🌟 What’s your favorite era of home design?

@rhiimixed & @ctoth_powerlifting has a 1957 mid-century modern home in Sarasota is a retro masterpiece. From vintage furniture spanning the ’50s to ’70s to bold pops of color, they’ve created a space that’s both nostalgic and fresh.

Their kitchen renovation? Iconic. They repurposed cabinets from a Tim Siebert home and incorporated cypress detailing to blur the line between indoor and outdoor living. And their office? Pure space-age vibes, complete with an orbital TV, ’80s robot lamp, and unique lighting fixtures.

📍: Southgate, Florida
🎵: Obsessed with their aesthetic? Check out their store, Retro Revival, for vintage treasures!

These two are adorable and fun and very in love, so they married each other at this charming and cool nursery while their family watched from up and down the east coast on zoom. And I’m so glad I got to be there to capture it all. ❤️ #carolineruthphotography
