The 2027 calendar is here!

Earlier this spring, we tried something we’d never done before. Instead of building our 2027 trip calendar and hoping it worked for people, we asked first. We sent out a survey to our community and then built our slate of trips around their responses.

Now, for the first time, we have a calendar shaped by the people who are going to travel on it. Swipe to see what’s coming. While much of this fall is already sold out—you’ll have to wait until 2027 for Vietnam, Oaxaca, Japan, and Campania—there are still a handful of incredibly good spots on this year’s calendar available to the more spontaneous travelers among you.

Hit the link in our bio to explore 2027 or grab one of the final 2026 seats before they’re gone.

Forget New York. Is Hanoi the real city that never sleeps?

That’s the contention of pioneering distiller and researcher Daniel Nguyen (@rhizome7), who helps us navigate the city In the latest installment of our city guide series The Fix.

From morning rituals at wholesale wet markets to the holy culinary trinity of bia hơi, pho, and century-old bánh mì, Daniel guides us through a city where centuries of Sino, French, and Soviet architecture layer over an indomitable 24-7 creative energy.

Swipe for a first look at Daniel’s picks. Link in bio to join Insiders and unlock the full guide.

Got caught in the snow/rain of Final Winter and feeling like a drowned rat in need of a haircut. Sounds like the perfect time to start this year’s first 100 Days Project!

What’s a 100 Days Project? I first learned about it at the @suleikajaouad’s @theisolationjournals page back in 2022. The idea is do one small creative act each day for 100 Days. Mine was to open a bottle, snap a picture, and write a tasting note. First attempt I made it all the way to 100. Next attempts: 50, 70, 30, 65. It’s not about the number… it’s about the journey. And when I’m not doing it, I miss it - that jolt of enforced creativity and the tiny moment of structure. And also, my husband tells there are too many bottles taking up too much space in too many boxes. Sounds like the perfect excuse to begin again. Wish me luck!

Day 1/100: Given my advanced years in this industry, it’s very rare that I have a sip of something and think: What even is this???? Apparently it’s a Vietnamese wine made from yellow sticky and flor is involved. It’s textured and if you taste in colors, it tastes like all the shades of all the yellow flowers and sunbeams in the world. The twang of a good flor tastes yellow as well (just try to tell me otherwise!!!) so this is a dream of sunrise and golden hours and the acidity is SINGING VERY LOUDLY WITH PERFECT PITCH. I know nothing about this bottle except that it is from @songcaidistillery and @pascalinelepeltier gave us a sip after today’s training session and am going to learn more about it tomorrow. And I am very excited about that.

Thank you for sharing this road in a year that has been an especially significant one for us.

In 2025, we started publishing again for the first time in six years. We made a print magazine for the first time ever. We launched a global membership and welcomed you on 23 League of Travelers journeys, including to nine new destinations, from Angola to Abruzzo to Yunnan.

So to all of you who make it possible, we wish you health and happiness in the new year. We can’t wait for what’s next.

I was honored to join @kaya.orlando and be part of the team representing the U.S. at Terra Madre Asia Pacific in Bacolod, Philippines—often called the United Nations of sustainability in restaurants and bars. Chefs and bartenders from across the globe gathered with one shared mission: to protect culture, land, and flavor through the Slow Food and Slow Drinks movements, made possible in part by @slowdrinks .

Day one began in ceremony at Lanai—a restaurant nestled within @marrysorganicgarden —hosted by @chin2xuy for a beautiful dinner and pig roast. The following day, we met a local shaman and the coffee coalition on the island of Bacolod, who welcomed us into the living jungle behind their homes. There, we foraged ingredients straight from the earth itself—plants, flowers, and botanicals rich in history, flavor, and medicinal wisdom. These ingredients would later find new life in cocktails crafted for the days ahead.

It was a powerful reminder that sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s ancestral knowledge, community, and respect for what the land provides. Every leaf, root, and blossom carried a story, and every drink became a conversation between nature and craft.

This was just the beginning. Wait and see what’s coming next.

Every afternoon, as the sun dipped below the horizon, our first slow drinks stand transformed into a space for celebration and connection. What began as an after-party became a ritual: cocktails crafted with intention, music setting the rhythm, and an atmosphere meant to be shared.

World-class bartenders joined forces with local DJs, shaping each evening as the light faded into night.
This is a small glimpse of what we lived during Sunset Sips. Thank you to our partners @negroniweek , @gardenbarninc @zwieselglas @zwieselglasph @destilerialimtuacoofficial @slowfood_international and special thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a drink, and made these moments truly unforgettable!!!

Terra Madre Asia Pacific was proud to host the first ever Slow Drinks program, a movement reshaping the way we think about beverages.

Over 50 Slow Food presenters made up of farmers, Indigenous brewers, tea growers, mixologists, cultural bearers, and academics from 12+ countries across Asia-Pacific and beyond shared their wisdom, their traditions and their beverages via Talk & Toast workshops, Masterclasses, panels and Sunset Sip sessions. From bir pletok to lambanog to eraw to awa bancha tea, Slow Drinks shows us that beverages can reflect the same care, biodiversity, and cultural respect that define the Slow Food movement.

Thank you to everyone who came with open minds and a thirst for learning and connecting. Our hope was to show how every sip can be a conscious act - honouring people, place, and planet - and we’re so grateful to celebrate this new movement with all of you. In partnership with @negroniweek @destilerialimtuacoofficial @gardenbarninc and @slowfood_international

Here’s to carrying the Slow Drinks ethos forward into our own corners of the world! 🌎
