Company president Eric Falk and @lil_lisa_hurls_hammers were so thrilled to attend the @rhodymtrack @rhodywxctf Ribbon Cutting ceremony for their new track & field facility this morning!

This place will be ELITE come spring season, and we look forward to all of New England (and beyond) experiencing the high level facility and attention to details that were put into place 🤩

So many more facility photos to come ... but for now, thank you for letting us be involved forever and ever with Rhody track & field history!

A moment many years in the making! This morning we celebrated the official opening of our new outdoor track and field facility, and the energy and excitement kept us warm despite the chilly wind!

Thank you to all who joined us and made this possible, especially our elected officials, members of the Board of Trustees, and Rhody alumni! This facility will serve not only URI students, but thousands of Rhode Islanders in the years to come. Go Rhody!

🌟 Presenting Your October Student-Athletes of the Month! 🌟

Danika Rogers – Rowing 🚣‍♀️

Danika, a sophomore on the rowing team, was nominated by a teammate! This semester, she took on a new role as SAAC’s Impact Chair. Through this role, she is focused on bettering our community and encouraging other athletes to do the same. She continues to perform well both on the water and in the classroom!

Robert LaBarbera – Track & Field 🏃‍♂️

Robert, a freshman on the track and field team, was nominated by a teammate! Throughout his time here, he has shown dedication and great leadership skills. He always brings high energy, pushes his teammates during workouts, and isn’t afraid to speak up. He also gets involved outside of his sport and has expressed interest in both SAAC and AIA. His willingness to put in effort beyond athletics shows his dedication to bettering our school and helping those around him. He understands that being a student-athlete is about more than just performance in your sport!

👏 Both of our athletes were nominated by their teammates! If you see a teammate or fellow athlete doing something you believe deserves to be highlighted, please nominate them using the directions sent out in the email from Mr. Johnson!
