A Heartfelt Update: Change, Transition, and New Beginnings

Dear Essence Community,

It is with a mix of emotions that I write to you today. Recently, we received an unexpected 30-day notice to vacate our space due to a change in ownership. As the new owners reminded us, “it’s not personal, it’s just business.” While that may be true, it’s difficult to reconcile when we’ve poured so much love, energy, and investment into a place that has felt like home to so many of us.

But I believe we deserve to be in a space that nurtures us — a space where we feel safe, inspired, and supported. Sometimes, what feels like an ending is simply an invitation to rise. With that in mind, our last day of business in our current space will be December 21. We will then close for the remainder of the year to focus on our next chapter.

We have been blessed with offers of support from our incredible community. Beginning January 2, we will resume classes at Dr. Lisa Rubis’s space at ANew Chiropractic, 115 Republic Ave., Joliet, using her physical therapy room as a temporary home. Her generosity, along with that of others who offered their spaces, has been a beautiful reminder that community and compassion are still at the heart of everything we do.

During this transition, I ask for your patience and understanding. I will be responding to all emails after the first of the year, as I take some time to reflect, regroup, and rekindle the spirit of the season with my family. In the meantime, I have mirrors and other items for sale from our current space. If you’re interested, please reach out after the new year.

While this change was unexpected, I trust that God’s plan is greater than anything I could have imagined. His timing is never wrong. I believe this shift is making space for something even more beautiful to emerge.

Your love, support, and understanding over the years have been a gift beyond words. We are not just a business — we are a community. Together, we will continue to grow, evolve, and create something even greater than before.

Wishing you a holiday season filled with peace, joy, and the comfort of knowing that brighter days are ahead.
