Before Paul’s passing, he asked if we would continue promoting his work after he was gone. Without hesitation, I said yes and thought at the time, how we would truly carry that forward.

What we did have was something extraordinary: an original mold from 1965 that had never been used. From it, we are now hand-pressing new Sun Faces honoring Paul’s vision while keeping the process personal and true to his spirit.

Recently, my husband, Artist Gene Dodak, was invited to be a guest artist in a group show in Fresno Gallery 654 I asked if I could bring a few of Paul’s iconic Sun Faces, created from that original mold, and they graciously agreed.

As I met people and shared Paul’s story, I felt a deep sense of joy and connection. It brought me back to that moment when he asked me to continue promoting his work so his name would live on. In that space, I realized I was truly doing just that.

I left the show with a sense of peace, knowing his legacy continues. And to make the night even more special, three of the six Sun Faces I brought were sold on opening night.
