Before I started Maple Run Dog Camp, I worked online for a Vermont company. I thought working from home would be the answer to how much I’d always hated office jobs - it was a bit better but I still absolutely hated being stuck inside on a computer all day.

I found My Dog Camp and spent over a year thinking about taking it, but too scared to take the plunge. What if I failed and wasted my money? What if I just lacked the motivation to make it happen for myself?

I finally bit the bullet and never looked back! I started camp part-time whenever I could fit in a session around my full-time job. When I moved to NH I thought that was the perfect time to take dog camp full time. I quit my online job and I’ve been doing dog camp as my only job ever since.

Best decision I ever made - I’ve never been happier. Having the freedom to live life on my schedule, not dominated by 40 hours in a climate-controlled office, has been the best thing for my mental and physical health. Running my own business can of course be stressful, but it’s more than counteracted by spending time outside every day, year round. I’m happy, I have time to do other things I love, and I almost never get sick!

My Dog Camp’s 6 week course is only open twice a year, so this is the last session this year. If you’re unhappy in your job and thinking about starting your own business, this is your sign! Sign up for My Dog Camp before doors close on the 17th, and use my code BonusMMorgan to get free membership to their training course, Happy Rescue Dogs Online Course to help you be the best pack leader you can be. www.mydogcamp.com/sign-up

Today we had the chance to do an instagram takeover with @mydogcamp - hop on over there to see our stories from today and also some other AMAZING dog camp providers rockin’ it!
As some of you know, I started my business with taking Rhonda’s My Dog Camp course, and later having the INCREDIBLE opportunity to apprentice with her for an entire year to fine tune my dog training skills. Highly recommend anything Rhonda is putting out, she has forever changed the course of my life in ways I can’t even explain 💕✨ If you’re thinking of taking a leap of faith and starting your own business working with dogs, I promise you won’t regret it 😉

I just completed a 12 day dog training workshop with Rhonda of @mydogcamp and Jess of @adogstrail.vt If you didn’t know, I am apart of a YEAR long dog training course that started last fall and we are about 1/2 way through the course. It’s been so amazing learning all the ways we can continue to support owners and their dogs live their best lives together. In the last 12 days I was able to spend 100 hours learning about dogs and expanding my knowledge 🧠

Here’s my favorite parts from the workshop:
- Seeing my personal dogs do so well in an unfamiliar / unconventional setting, proud of you guys 🩵

-Nerding out about dogs with these awesome women ☺️🐶

-Getting to learn from everyone and hear about other experiences🤔

-Getting hands on experience with a ton of different dogs📝

-Being apart of an amazing community that continues to support and uplift one another 🥰

So HUGE thank you to @rhondezvouswithdogs & @adogstrail.vt for sharing all of your knowledge and helping me grow to become the best dog trainer I could possibly be— the world wouldn’t be the same without you both 💗
