2006 was a year to remember 🏀

One of the biggest moments of our senior year was watching our Varsity Basketball Team bring home the 2006 State Championship. 🏆

It’s crazy how one clip can instantly take you back.

Whether you were in the stands, celebrating in the hallways the next school day, or watching the highlights later, it’s a moment many of us will never forget.

What’s the first thing you remember when you see this? 💭👇🏽

Change of direction (COD) isn’t just about drills—it’s about preparing for the chaos of sport.

When coaching 180° turns in a rehab setting, athletes need exposure to:
• Multiple planes of motion
• Different cutting angles
• Gradually increasing intensities

You can (and should) break these down into individual strategies and layer in constraints. But here’s the reality: true COD happens at high speed, under reactive conditions—not in perfectly planned reps.

Every variation has pros and trade-offs. Most athletes will naturally gravitate toward the strategy that feels safest and most efficient to them. Your job is to expand their options, not force one “perfect” solution.

Before progressing to sharper cuts and full-speed reactions, make sure:
• They have the hip, knee, and ankle mobility to decelerate effectively
• They’ve built strength across multiple planes (not just straight ahead)
• They’ve earned confidence with less aggressive angles

Build the foundation → expose variability → layer in speed and reactivity.

That’s how you bridge rehab to real sport.

Exposure changes everything.

Today I brought together Overlea, Randallstown, Rosedale Christian Academy, and Impetuous Basketball Academy for a Towson University Basketball game.

Different programs.
One experience.
One purpose.

For some of these kids, this was their first time on a college campus. First time seeing what’s possible beyond their current environment.

This is mentorship.
This is collaboration.
This is bigger than basketball.

Moments like this shape futures. 🏀🙏
