It was an absolute honor to get to hear from Rachel Hauck the scenic designer for Hadestown and What the Constitution Means to Me yesterday. It was an awesome opportunity to see how some of these famous sets came together and to hear about her journey.

I could not be more proud of the work our brilliant creative team did on our Hadestown film. This is not some static live capture. This is experiencing our show cinematically in a way that is totally different than the live show. It is so incredible to see @anaismitchell work reach a whole new group of audience. ❤️🌹❤️

Walking into Sardi’s always feels like coming home (if your home was filled with red leather booths, a thousand caricatures, and the collective nervous energy of every opening night since 1921.)

Sharing some shots from the final day before the industry’s favorite clubhouse closed for renovations. If you’ve looked for me on any given weekday evening over the years, chances are I was tucked into a booth here.

It’s where the Tony Awards were born and where generations of producers have paced the floors waiting for reviews to drop.

For over 100 years, Sardi’s has been the place where the industry goes for celebration before an opening night and comfort after a closing notice. We’re already counting down the days to the reopening. 🥂

I just had the privilege of seeing my name in the credits of the filmed Hadestown stage production!

This movie features the original five Broadway leads with the London cast, on the West End set.

I worked with Rachel Hauck to adapt the scenic design for the West End production. It's incredible to see our work on the big screen! This is such a wonderful show!

Behind every unforgettable performance is a world built with intention.

Tony Award-winning scenic designer Rachel Hauck has spent her career creating stages that transport audiences—from Hadestown to Cats: The Jellicle Ball. In our latest conversation, she reflects on the creative risks that shape her work, the lasting impact of receiving a Princess Grace Award, and why live theater continues to offer something no other art form can.

"I think audiences are craving the chance to be in the room. A vision that offers them a new perspective. It's just so moving. There's just nothing else like it."
