Tomorrow is the Bill Howarth Women’s Lifeguard Championship in Ventnor. This race used to be the Women’s South Jersey but last year Ventnor hosted the first ever South Jersey Women’s Lifeguard Championships the same day as the Bill Howarth Race. This will be the first time both races occur in the same year and with the Bill Howarth Race getting its new date.

Women’s Doubles:
Kicking off the doubles both Fox Sisters from Longport are coming in at number 1 after a commanding win at the Longport Women’s Invitational. Following suit is the most experienced crew in the field with Julianna Granese and Michelle Burwell who are ranked at 2nd after a solid second place finish at the Longport Race. Sea Isle’s Quinn Twin pairing won the South Jersey’s last year and though we have them at 3rd, wouldn’t be surprised if they took the win. Ventnor’s Leah Nirenberg and Charolette Thomas are a relatively new crew but have had some solid success this year placing fourth at the Longport Invitational. Cape May’s Anna Grey and Jenn Rafter haven’t been to many races this summer but seriously impressed at the MS Bay Race where they won the women’s flight by a significant margin over the Upper Township crew. We’ll have to see how they stack up in the Ocean as opposed to the bay. Coming in 6th is the veteran crew from Upper Township. Lorna and Kailey have been rowing together for better part of half a decade and have always been in the hunt for the win. We wouldn’t be surprised if they make a big leap up the rankings come Wednesday night.

Women’s Swim:
Kicking things off is the rookie from Atlantic City Ady Elko who won the Longport Invitational. She didn’t compete at the Hoffman’s but we can be sure to see her compete for the South Jersey Title next week. Cape May’s Madelyn Cassidy had a solid race at the Dutch Hoffman’s winning the women’s race by a good margin. Longport’s Jordyn Ricciotti came in second to Madelyn but has always been in the hunt especially last year where she followed up Rebbeca Cubler who is no longer competing this summer. Sea Isle’s Delaney Burns came in right behind Longport at both the Longport Invitational and The Hoffman’s leading to Rhylee Cornell from Ocea
