We made a friend at Dingbats Books! The Artery has grown to include an additional space inside the bookstore.

Come check it out at 1441 W Morse Ave. Browse the art, make something at the art-making station, leave a piece for the neighborhood, or take a piece that catches your eye.

Leave art, take art, find joy. Let us know what you think!

A little update from The Outpost: thank you to our current artists for sharing their work. Each artist brings a perspective and personal story that makes discovering their art even more meaningful.

And thank you to the community for being open to this little experiment. It feels like The Outpost is finding its place, and we’re excited to keep seeing it grow.

We’re happy to welcome @noonslaps for our first solo show, opening Monday, October 12, in the late afternoon. Stop by and see what’s new!

The Outpost has officially soft launched!

We added some art, turned on the lights, and officially introduced this little new community art space on Glenwood. We’ll continue adding art throughout the week as the space comes to life.

A big thank you to the artists tagged in this post for contributing their work and helping us bring the Outpost to life.

Books are still part of the plan! We have an idea for keeping a neighborhood book exchange alongside The Outpost, but we just need a little time to bring it to life. Sorry for causing any disappointment.

As we get started, we’re a little nervous about having a space that isn’t directly in front of our home, where we can’t always keep an eye on it. Please help us look out for The Outpost and keep the space and the artwork safe.

Our intent is simple: to share local art with our neighbors, create community, and give artists another tiny space to be seen.

This is new, and we’re learning as we go. If you have comments, questions, or ideas, please let us know.

Stop by and see it evolve.

Another Tiny Art Social in the books!

We were so busy making art that we completely forgot to take many photos or videos, but here’s a little look at what we made.

We spent the afternoon creating, trying new things, sharing supplies, and enjoying some creative time together. I love seeing what everyone comes up with and how different every little piece becomes.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon so much fun.

Our next Tiny Art Social is:

Sunday, November 8
2:30–4:00 p.m.
Rogers Park Branch Library

Free and open to all. Come make something tiny with us.

WHATS IN MY MAILBOX: July🌟

@katiesmiscellaneous both the June and July envelopes came in July so we had extra fun opening these this month!! As always, perfect, stunning, gorgeous! Hers is so unique compared to the others I’m subscribed to because Katie is a lino artist so the designs are first carved then made into the stickers, patches, and bandanna!

@coollectingclub I loved the ocean theme so much I made my monthly calendar spread out of this envelope and a few of Katie’s fish from her July envelope! (Check my grid for the post!) This is only month 2 of getting this club and I LOVE IT!

@riblet764 my mail club!! This month was inspired by summer nights and fireflies! Two blue stickers and a shrinky drink art prompt and supplies on a lightning yellow index card! And of course a newsletter with fun goodies and a handwritten letter!

@lavendercowboyart disclaimer for this one! My partner subscribes to this for himself and the July sticker was a caterpillar which I happen to be HORRIFIED of (even “cute” drawings of them) so this is the August mail as the July was immediately put in his journal where I have no business being anyway. But August is so good! An ode the the summertime midwestern scream<3

@strawbearydump one of the first couple mail clubs I ever subscribed to and it’s just banger after banger! Absolutely loved the summertime picnic vibes and the sticker sheet is such an original layout which is so fun! I can’t wait to use these on a journal spread asapppp. (August also included caterpillars so my partner was blessed with some stickers just for him this month from her club lol)

@fiorenza_art and finally the one and only! I love the bunny designs every month so much the bunny clown postcard from a prior month earned a place on the smack front cover of my journal<3

A special thank you to the artists who shared their work throughout our Free to Be exhibition.

Here’s to continuing to build a place where creativity, kindness, and belonging aren’t limited to one month.

Behind every great gallery is a dedicated assistant.

Today Suki helped capture the June show and reminded us how lucky we are to feature the work of 13 talented artists in Free to Be. Thank you to every artist who trusted us with your work and helped create a little more joy, connection, and creativity in Rogers Park. ❤️

A day early, but we couldn’t wait.

Free to Be is now on display at the OkBeKind Gallery.

This group show brings together neighborhood artists exploring freedom, identity, joy, expression, and what it means to be free to be ourselves. The work is thoughtful, playful, personal, and uniquely reflective of the artists who shared it.

The artists are tagged in this post, and over the coming days we’ll be diving deeper into their work and stories through our Instagram Stories.

Stop by, take a look, and spend some time with the art.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈
