We are excited to share that we have a new 'Art in the Park' display up in Rowntree Park. Come and take a look! Local artists were asked to submit pieces under the theme 'Wild Rowntree Park' in celebration of the wilder aspects of the park. Despite being an urban park close to the city centre, there is a vast amount of biodiversity. Our volunteers, who care for specific areas of the park and we fund, are focused on helping pollinators, using more native planting where possible, and also considering low maintenance and flood resilient planting. We have a wide range of wildlife in the park too! It's amazing to see the varying styles and approaches of the artists and to see Rowntree Park through other people's eyes. We hope you enjoy seeing the pieces that are in display in the centre of the park. We also have a few pieces in the cafe (kindly agreed with York Explore staff). We hosted a 'launch' event last night where some artists and volunteers came along, it typical British style it rained a little but we even got a rainbow too making it even more special! Some of the artwork on display available to purchase in the near future. Many of the artists have kindly agreed we can sell things notecards, prints and we may have a calendar again! Any profit raised goes back into our charity who help maintain and improve the park. . . . #rowntreepark #yorklife #yorkcreatives #yorkbloggers #yorkartists #southbankstudiosyork #artinthepark #rowntreeparkyork #southbankyork #bishyroad #yorkshirepark #yorkwalks #whatsonyork #yorkuk #york #visityork #yorkvolunteers Image showing sign on railings of park explaining that art in the park has a theme of wild Rowntree park
