one of my three pieces accepted for the Durham Habitat: #FRAMED event, next week at @rickhousedurham!

'#MetredComposition', a mixed-media piece using various papers, markers, ink, bleeding tissue, and watercolor, incorporates a quote of the poet #Rumi, saying, "In the #house of #lovers, the #music never stops, the walls are made of #songs, and the floor #dances"

hope to see you on October 20!

Allysa & Jed ✨

What a fun wedding day these two had on Saturday in Downtown Durham at the Rickhouse! They had a very intimate ceremony - 12 guests to be exact (counting officiant and wedding party) - and then followed it with a bigger reception with more of their friends and family. I loved the intimacy of the day as well as the unique touches that made the day their own - my favorite being the details that incorporated their kitties! Congratulations to the newlyweds!!!

The Greenprint Gala is Thursday, October 8, 5-9pm, and there is a ticket for you. When you attend you will be able to enjoy a sneak peek at work we’ve done and what’s to come. Then, after a @glassjug_downtown cocktail hour in the park, you’ll head to @rickhousedurham to experience a seated dinner with plates from incredible local restaurants like @gocciolina_restaurant @saca_monk @lutrabakery @rosesdurhamnc

You will also, most importantly be supporting the Greenprint for years to come! This incredible evening raises funds for Durham Central Park to continue our momentous improvements as laid out in the Greenprint, our Ten-Year Vision for the Future.

A quick look back at the 2026 ROC Awards ✨

We were proud to celebrate the incredible work, craftsmanship, and creativity of our remodelers.

Thank you to every remodeler who submitted a project and helped make this year’s awards so special, and a special thank you to our sponsors for supporting this event and our industry.

Congratulations again to all of this year’s honorees! 🏆

Check out Mary Pat’s great aunt taking charge of the dance floor at The Rickhouse—taken almost a decade ago to the day—and putting a fair few of the younger guests to shame in the process.

She found herself two willing dance partners and was clearly having an excellent time. I love how all three expressions come together here, with the movement in the lights adding to the general chaos.

Wedding receptions at their best: three generations, no inhibitions and absolutely no interest in behaving sensibly.

We are absolutely swooning over these photos from our Garden Party Vendor Showcase at The Rickhouse a few weeks ago! From the yummy treats to the colorful florals, Sarah captured every moment of this event so beautifully. Her eye for detail is what really made these photos pop. 💛 Thank you, Sarah, for making our event look this good!
