10 things that were good this year!
1. I taped a special that will come out in March.
2. I started the @puzzyboyzpod with my friends.
3. I joined a Primus cover band with more friends.
4. I shit my pants riding this horse.
5. I toured a lot.
6. I struck for fair contracts.
7. I hung with my dude.
8. I got very dumb tattoos.
9. I had some fun guitar projects.
10. I road-tripped with my little fam.
.
There was also a GoFundMe. There were friends we tragically lost. There were health issues. There were some devastating disappointments. But we made it through and 2024 starts tomorrow and nothing bad will ever happen again. A full year for sure. #2023 #2024

4 hrs in 16 seconds. Reaching the final stages of six songs I’ve been working on for the last six months and it’s feeling really good. Yes I’m sitting on the ground recording vocal parts while holding a condenser mic. Doing everything “wrong” has been something I’ve gotten much more comfortable with throughout the creation of these recordings. I’m ultimately looking to hear and feel certain things and a lot of the times the way to get there is unconventional but feels better. Thank you @rickw00d for reminding me that (and this is from memory) “Everyone is looking for a unique recording but trying to follow the same rules”. I haven’t let go of that idea since you said it and it’s been on my mind super heavy every time I feel like I’m only doing something a certain way because it’s the way it’s “supposed to be done”. Finish line is near and I’ll be starting to share more as the new year begins. Still have a lot of work to do but this whole process has been really rewarding. Thank you Steven Pressfield for setting up a really creatively fulfilling year for me 🧡🙏🏼 #warofart #recordingprocess
