What does it mean to be a trail blazer?

I think it starts with your passions, divine giftings, & concentrated effort & energy being dialed in. After closing @fromthesidewalk_ store front I had no clue what I was going to do with my life until @runningdiversity introduced me to the running industry… As I accept this award I am also accepting more responsibility. I vow to continue investing in the health & wellness of my community but I also choose to disrupt this industry so we can reach the communities we aren’t currently serving. I am honored but I am not satisfied and won’t be satisfied until we are educating, equipping, & empowering more people (and especially people who look different from us) to live healthier lives through movement & running. And that’s the mission that I plan to serve for the indefinite future (as well as my Kingdom mission).

Thank you @brooksrunning for the award. I can’t wait to see the cool things we do in the future.

Thank you @runningdiversity for the scholarship and the opportunity to even come on this amazing trip to @therunningevent.

Amazing day at the @dchalfmarathon with the @runpacers team! I promise you should run it in 2026.

Here's some pictures of me running (if you are into pics of an old guy running on a warm day 🤣) from some of my favorite photographers in the biz @swimbikerunphoto and @jessrhood

And oh yeah, thanks Rick for hanging with me every step of the way. And Julie, thanks for letting me win this time. #ForEveryRun #racethedistrict

Some highlights from my 16th spin through The Running Event in Austin, Texas. (There have only been 17! 🤭) Great people, old friends, new connections, tasty Tex-Mex food, killer live music, mind-blowing next-gen shoes and many fun runs along Lady Bird Lake (which, c’mon, is actually the Colorado River!) Oh, and the final three days of Dry November!
