Happy Small Business Saturday! Come join us on Company Street in Christiansted for all your shopping needs in one place! We are all so grateful for your support this holiday season! ✨
.
Shopping at small businesses can be beneficial for several reasons. Here are five top reasons to consider:
.
1. Unique Products and Services: Small businesses often offer unique, handcrafted, or locally produced products that you may not find in larger chain stores. By shopping small, you can discover one-of-a-kind items, supporting the creativity and diversity of local entrepreneurs.
.
2. Personalized Customer Service: Small businesses typically provide more personalized and attentive customer service. When you shop at a small business, you're more likely to interact directly with the owner or employees who are knowledgeable about their products and dedicated to ensuring your satisfaction.
.
3. Support for the Local Economy: When you spend money at a small business, a larger portion of your money stays within the local community. This helps create jobs, supports local suppliers, and contributes to the overall economic health of the area.
.
4. Community Involvement: Small businesses often play an active role in their communities by sponsoring local events, donating to charitable causes, and contributing to the overall well-being of the area. By supporting small businesses, you're indirectly supporting community development and local initiatives.
.
5. Environmental Impact: In many cases, small businesses have a smaller environmental footprint compared to larger corporations. They often source products locally, use less packaging, and may be more inclined to implement sustainable practices, contributing to a healthier environment.
.
These reasons illustrate the positive impact that shopping at small businesses can have on both a local and global scale.
.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Come shopping with me in historic, downtown Christiansted!🛍️🏝️

Here you’ll find great duty-free shopping throughout town. Yep! No sales tax in the US Virgin Islands. Can’t beat that, right? You can find pretty much everything you need in the town proper from Company Street and King Street to the boardwalk and on the side streets that connect them.

@rougedfstcroix has all your favorite fragrances for men and women, cosmetics, sunglasses, bags, and top-shelf liquors. All duty-free, of course!

@riddims music & kulcha shop is full of great vibes with island music, t’s, and accessories for the perfect toke💨. And don’t forget to pop into @marleynatural_usvi for CBD products, audio accessories and all things Bob Marley.

@hotheadsusvi is a long-time island go-to for bathing suits 🩱👙 and sunny weather pieces for that can take you to from the beach to a night out on the town. They’ve even got a great kids section. It’s frequented by residents and visitors alike!

Don’t forget to take a break for a cocktail 🍹with a view at @BrewSTX for the best views of the harbor. Then pop over to our friends at @CaribbeanSeaAdventures to grab a rashguard and book a trip to ⛴️ 🤿 Buck Island!

After all that walking, you’re going to want a fresh smoothie at the juice bar @TheCourtyardSTX where they also have a selection of everything you need for yoga classes in their open-air studio. Of course, while you’re there you’re going to want to stop in at @PamperedVI to schedule a facial, pedicure, a massage and to grab some reef safe sunscreen and a cute TSA-approved travel kit.

Then it’s on to jewelry at one of my favorite shops @ibdesigns and then over to @ashaworlddesigns for one of their signature walking skirts (I have two!) or some other gem from around the world. Last stop, some party favors, cocktail and kitchen accessories, and homegoods from my friends at @jumpupdelianddemtings - and one of their killer deli sandwiches since you’ve worked off all those calories! Visit our online guides for all the details!

Visit the @miamibookfair in person and online for special #ReadCaribbean programs.

ReadCaribbean is an extensive series of readings and panel discussions, highlighting the vibrant and diverse literary culture of the Caribbean.

Don't miss "Our Beautiful and Corrupted Islands." Caribbean writers explore the dichotomies that permeate life in the Caribbean, a place that is vibrant and joyous but also riddled with corruption and violence. They discuss the fascinating traditions and values that bind Caribbean people, but also the literal and metaphorical walls that divide them and the struggle to overcome the consequences imposed by such artificial boundaries. With Pamela Mordecai, Jamaica (A Fierce Green Place, poems), Mac Donald Dixon, St Lucia (A Scream in the Shadows), and Celeste Mohammed, Trinidad and Tobago (Pleasantview), in conversation with Kellie Magnus, Read Jamaica. Online program.

With the ReadCaribbean program, journey to exciting destinations with readings, discussions, writing workshops, children's programming, and more that navigate the Caribbean diaspora. ❤️❤️❤️
