If you need support with your mental health, please make sure you get the help and support you need.

If it is an emergency and you feel unable to keep yourself safe, call 999 or 111, or take yourself to A&E. You can also call @samaritanscharity if you need support urgently.

If it's not an emergency, you can speak to your GP or refer yourself online to your local NHS Talking Therapies service.

If you're not sure where to go or how to get help, there are lots of great organisations who can help you. @riders_minds is a great charity specifically for equestrians, but there's also @mindcharity, @rethinkmentalillness and @calmzone who are national charities offering support to all.

Above all else, make sure you speak to someone. Whether it's friends, family, a medical professional or a support line, just make sure you reach out.

Things will get better, they will improve, even if you can't see it right now.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE HORSES MATTER. 🩷

We notice when our horses aren’t quite themselves. Do we give ourselves that same attention?

This World Mental Health Day, Equitas is highlighting support for the people across our industry, including women balancing careers, businesses, motherhood and caring responsibilities alongside their horses.

You can be capable and still need support. You can love what you do and still find it difficult.

Swipe through for mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding resources from equuip, our partners Riders Minds and EQUISS, Racing Welfare, the International Grooms Association, Racing Mates and OnTrack.

We’ve also included Find A Helpline, a global directory to help you find emotional support suited to your country and needs: findahelpline.com

Each resource offers something different. Check the relevant website for availability, eligibility and the support provided.

Save this carousel. Share it with your yard, colleagues or someone you care about. Make time to ask how they’re doing, and to hear the answer.

You care for your horse. You deserve care too.

You never really know what someone is going through, or what it’s taken to get them to this moment.

A little reminder to be kind. 🤍

It’s World Mental Health Day!🐴

For many of us, horses are so much more than a hobby. They give us routine, purpose, a reason to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. Time spent with them can offer a welcome break from the pressures of everyday life.

But being part of the equestrian world can bring its own challenges, too. Whether it's the pressure to perform, financial worries, setbacks, or simply trying to balance everything, mental health matters just as much as physical health.

If you're looking for advice, help or guidence, Riders Minds have a free helpline for supporting mental health and well-being of all equestrians!

Hey everyone, take a break, everyone needs one. Thank you to everyone who is holding down the fort ;) Burnout is real
The analysis revealed that many of the participants were struggling with the stress from balancing equestrian demands, work, and family commitments with the financial burden of horse ownership adding stress and contributing to burnout.

One of the more alarming observations from the survey was the negative perception of burnout within the equestrian industry, which reduced any help-seeking, for fear of being judged or seen as weak.Burnout can cause a range of physical and emotional clinic signs, including a lack of motivation and energy, feelings of overwhelm, procrastinating, withdrawing from social circles and changes in sleep patterns. #mentalhealth #equestrian @riders_minds #horses #farm #burnout

Today marks World Suicide Prevention Day, organised by International Association of Suicide Prevention.

Many of us know someone that has been affected by suicide. It is never an easy situation, and we hope you will help us mark this day, and help change the narrative surrounding suicide.

Changing the narrative on suicide requires systemic change. It's about shifting from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness, understanding, and support.
Never be afraid to ask your friends and colleagues, "How are you?" "Are you okay?"

Please, if you, or someone you know, need extra support please check out:
