Chicago… y’all are making it real hard not to call this one of my favorite summer cities in America.

There’s just something about this place. Lake Michigan feels like an ocean, the Chicago Riverwalk never misses, and the energy reminds me of Miami!! In all the best ways but with a vibe all of its own. Every trip leaves me wondering why I don’t come back sooner.

This year felt less like a trip and more like a family reunion. Back at my favorite spot, LondonHouse, enjoying oysters at RPM Seafood and Ocean Prime, reconnecting with some of my favorite captains (Capt. Mac and Capt. Derrick) and getting to spend the day tied up with my brother, Capt. Chris. Now this Bama waited until AFTER the day was over to tell me he was the NUPES… I think he charged me up with an aqua charge while we were rafted but my head wasn’t EVEN on Kappa!! 🙃 I’m gonna get him back 😎😂
SN: I didn’t get a pic with my brother @elitecaptainsservices !! But we do have proof of life in the mix!

Then there was the Obama Presidential Center… all I can say is WOW. A must see, a must visit, a must experience. It’s powerful, inspiring, and something everyone should make time to see.

And of course, @BlvckScene. Ten years strong, and somehow it keeps getting better. Beautiful boats, beautiful people, and Black excellence on full display. Every single time.

Chicago, thank y’all for another unforgettable weekend. To everyone I laughed with, broke bread with, and shared the water with! Love y’all. I already can’t wait for next year… although I have a feeling I’ll be back long before then.

If you’ve never experienced Chicago in the summertime, stop making excuses. Get off your bumper and go. You won’t regret it.

Until next time, Chi-Town. 🛥️🌊🦪

Ending Black History Month with our Educating Our Community Gala was incredibly meaningful.

It was a night to celebrate legacy, honor community leaders, and be reminded of the power of coming together with purpose.

I’m deeply grateful for every person who supported, volunteered, partnered, and believed in the vision.

Black history is still being written — and I’m thankful to be building alongside so many amazing people.

Grateful. ✨

@educatingourcommunity believes , in the importance of supporting and uplifting Black and Brown men, as they are essential to building a stronger and safer community. On June 30th, we hosted “Barbershop Talks,” a curated space for Black and Brown men to come together for encouragement and mutual upliftment. Our men were provided a safe space to be open and vulnerable about their mental health and provide support for young men transitioning into adulthood . It was followed by the women coming and literally giving flowers to them in appreciation and love for all that they do in our community. Thank you to everyone who attended and special thanks to our supporting staff/volunteers
