POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Tonight I taught my last outdoor yoga class of the year, at Nancy and Karen’s home overlooking the lake. 🤍

This season, they hosted seven community yoga classes—opening their home to all of us, gathering people and somehow making it all come together. I had the easy part—I showed up and taught.

What happens on the mat is wonderful. We move, breathe, slow down and practice together.

But I think what happens afterward might be just as important.

We linger. After class, that means gathering on the three-season porch, talking and catching up while watching the evening activity on the lake. Even tonight, at 58 degrees, someone was out on the water skiing. Hardy Minnesotans. 😊

And while we’re doing all of this, something else is happening too: 100% of the money collected from every class is donated back into our community.

Seven classes. A season of yoga, conversation, connection and giving.

Thank you, Nancy and Karen, for opening your home and creating a place for all of us to gather. And thank you to everyone who rolled out a mat with us this year.

It really is about so much more than yoga. 🤍
Until next summer.

It’s been a while since I’ve taken a complete week off of work! Couldn’t think of a better way to use some PTO and celebrate the wedding of @madelinejudge & Guillaume in Des Moines. And then some “well deserved relaxation” - my managers words not mine - at the Lake. We got the Riebel’s together to celebrate Uncle Pat’s retirement and no one went to jail!

Ireland retreat recap:
Still reflecting on a week that felt both grounding and expansive.

Ireland gave us Atlantic views that never got old, daily walks to visit our favorite goats and cows, wild swims at Clahane, saunas, cold plunges, and the kind of fresh sea air that makes you want to stay outside all day.

Together we moved through vinyasa, restorative yoga, Pilates, meditation, and sound healing. We explored the Cliffs of Moher, wandered through the ancient landscape of The Burren, and spent a day on Inis Mór, soaking in the history, stories, and rugged beauty of the island with the help of incredible local guides.

Some of my favorite moments weren’t on the itinerary at all. They happened around the table over nourishing meals, cups of tea, shared laughter, and conversations that started as small talk and somehow became much more.

Retreats are never really about the destination. They’re about creating space, space to breathe deeper, connect more fully, move your body, rest your mind, and remember what matters.

This group made that easy.

There is always a little sadness when a retreat comes to an end. Not because it’s over, but because for a brief moment a group of strangers becomes a community. You settle into a beautiful rhythm together, and then suddenly it’s time to return home carrying the memories with you.

A little post-retreat blues this week, which I’ve learned is usually the surest sign that something was truly special.

Thank you, Ireland. Thank you, @lizadocken . And thank you to every person who shared this experience with us. What a gift it was. ☘️

Flying home from our Ireland retreat that ended just hours ago, and my heart is incredibly full.

What a special group of humans. The conversations, laughter, adventures, the history, the giggles, quiet moments, and connections that unfolded throughout the week are exactly why I love this work so much.

Leading retreats continues to be one of the greatest privileges of my life. I feel deeply grateful for every person who trusts us with their time, their energy, and a week of their lives. As @ruyogaretreats continues to evolve, I am more excited than ever to grow alongside amazing co-teachers who bring their own unique gifts to each experience.

A heartfelt thank you to @lizadocken Sharing Ireland has been a dream of yours, and your love for this spectacular country shined through beautifully. It was felt by every person on this retreat.

This week also reaffirmed something I’ve known in my heart all along: smaller retreats create space for deeper experiences. More meaningful conversations. More shared meals, stories, and laughter. More opportunity to truly absorb the magic of a place and the people around us.

I could go on and on about this one. The gratitude I feel for the humans I get to spend time with in this world is hard to put into words.

For now, I’ll simply say thank you.

Until the next adventure. 🤍✨

MEET LIZA ✨

Co-Teacher • Cliffs of Moher Retreat
June 13–19, 2026

I’m so excited to introduce you to Liza, my co-teacher for our Cliffs of Moher Ireland retreat. She is a lovely human, a dear friend, and one of the most grounding, heart-forward teachers you’ll ever meet.

Liza specializes in aromatherapy, yin + hatha yoga, reiki, Thai bodywork, and meditation — a beautiful blend that creates the perfect counterbalance to our movement, adventure, and deep rest on this magical retreat.

She’s also an Ireland expert! Liza has traveled to Ireland many times and actually stayed at our exact retreat venue this year… and absolutely loved it. Her insight, care, and calm presence are going to make this experience unforgettable.

If Ireland has been calling you — this is your sign. 🌿

FULL CIRCLE.
When I was little, I’d turn my bedroom into a classroom — stuffed animals lined up in neat rows, school supplies I bought with my allowance, even a little projector. I’d walk around “teaching,” taking attendance, completely in my flow.

My first business? Selling rock people — with yarn hair and painted faces.
Teaching, creating, and entrepreneurship were in me long before I had words for them. (A few other businesses along the way!)

Fast forward — not much has changed. I’m still teaching, still creating, still building community… only now, it’s through @holayogamn and @ruyogaretreats .

Tomorrow, Hola turns ONE!!
This year has been wild — full of highs, lows, lessons, and so much growth. Through it all, the studio has been my anchor, my happy place, and a reminder that community truly is everything.

From the local energy of Hola Yoga — where it’s always less ego, more amigos — to the global reach of Ritual Union Retreats, where we remember that you are the ritual — I’m so proud of what’s unfolding.

The search for the next Hola home is on, and I know the right space will align when it’s meant to.

Here’s to growth, connection, and continuing to build spaces that bring people home — to themselves, and to each other.

✨ Less Ego, More Amigos. You Are the Ritual. ✨
