Kenny Reichert has toured the Midwest and Europe for years. This great guitarist moved from Chicago to Minneapolis in 2024, and he'll bring longtime friends and new music to Berlin this May. Recommended for fans of Shifting Paradigm Records and beautiful new collaborations.

🌾 05.03 — Prairie Grass
Letters From the Road kicks off with Ethan Philion and Devin Drobka: two musicians who've influenced Reichert’s writing and improvisation across years of shared gigs and van rides.

🇲🇩 05.10 — Moldovest
This week features Chicago-based Moldovan vocalist Ana Everling and Madison-based bassist John Christensen. Anticipate new compositions penned by Reichert, woven from Eastern European lyricism, modern jazz language, and no shortage of guitar ad libbing.

🎹 05.17 — Righteous Rooster
Righteous Rooster is a Chicago-based organ trio. Drawing inspiration from Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Soulive, Medeski Martin & Wood, Goldings/Bernstein/Stewart, and Grant Green, the band blends deep grooves with soulful, melody-driven writing.

🟡 05.24 — Colours Quintet
The Colours Quintet, which features trumpeter Russ Johnson and saxophonist Geof Bradfield, draws from Reichert’s time spent walking and observing the great prairie landscape. This is some of his most detailed, expansive, and structurally ambitious writing yet.

🏠 05.31 — Twin Cities Quartet
Reichert’s Twin Cities Quartet is a newer working band focused entirely on unrecorded repertoire. Reichert, Kavyesh Kaviraj, Graydon Peterson, and Ben Ehrlich will blend modern jazz language with avant-garde improvisation and folk.

Five Sundays in May.
7 — 9:30pm
$15 tix. On sale now [link in bio]
