Light, Lens & the Wild

An evening of photography & filmmaking at The Studio

RIGR and The Studio are joining forces for an evening built around the craft behind the camera. Two of Cape Town’s most respected image makers take the stage to talk light, lens work, and the stories that pull them out into the field.

Aidan Tobias unpacks the relationship between studio strobes and constant lighting, and how each shapes the way you shoot in studio.

Sacha Specker, an award winning independent photographer, cinematographer and director of photography, shares his work across fine art ocean landscapes, action adventure sports, and nature conservation documentaries.

The Woodlands Eatery is on catering for the night. Your ticket gets you in the door with two drinks and half a pizza included, so come hungry.

SmallRig is the one when it comes to cages and camera accessories and sometimes you can’t find what you need here in South Africa but @rigr.co.za is the one to get you what you need!

Can’t wait to hit the field with my new XF50-140mm! 🤩

After a few rounds of trial and error — and some help from my new bud at @rigr.co.za — I finally got this baby balanced and ready for action.

That’s the thing about videography, just when you think you’ve cracked it, a new challenge comes swinging at your head. 🥴 But hey, it’s the persistence that turns good into great right?
