PLATFORM / bed by @rikfransjansen A stainless steel and aluminum bed designed by Amsterdam-based architect and designer Rik Frans Jansen. Conceived as a small piece of architecture, the structure raises the bed from the floor and sets it apart within the room, giving it its own distinct spatial presence. The bed consists of an aluminum profile frame clad in bolted stainless steel panels. Reflecting the designer’s architectural background, the system extends into a low headboard with integrated power outlets, deliberately leaving joints, bolts, and profile ends visible to transform typically concealed construction elements into the visual language of the furniture. Designer @rikfransjansen introduces Soft Touch, a room divider made from aluminium and polycarbonate. The design features a geometric framework of intersecting metal elements, supporting translucent panels that create a lightweight, semi-transparent partition. Measuring 182.5 × 100 × 30 cm, the piece combines an industrial construction with a delicate visual appearance.

COLLECTIBLE New York 2026, FASHION — RIKFRANSJANSEN Netherlands-based design studio RIKFRANSJANSEN (@rikfransjansen), founded in 2024, presents SOFT TOUCH – a room divider developed from the studio’s earlier piece METAL FLOWERS. Where METAL FLOWERS explored storing and presenting clothes, SOFT TOUCH is about dressing and undressing – adding a theatrical and lingerie-like aspect in which the performance lies in what can and cannot be seen. The structure is at once mundane and utilitarian, and ornamented. Working across architecture, scenography, and product design, RIKFRANSJANSEN’s practice is driven by obsessive research into material idiosyncrasies and production processes, resulting in work that is architectural at every scale, with structural expression developed into functional ornamentation. 23 in Barcelona design week We’re gonna be there with lovely poesia ❤️ Yuxtaposición: a walk through today’s independent international design Design was always asked to be rational, to serve a purpose. What happens when it also becomes play, irony, pleasure? When it borders on art without letting go of craft? Yuxtaposición brings together pieces by independent designers from today’s international scene, set against each other by material and formal contrast. Curated by Poesía, a platform that selects objects for the story they carry. 볼트와 금속으로 완성한, 침실 속 작은 건축물 🔩 벽과 천장 뒤에 감춰지던 건축의 구조가 침실 한가운데로 나왔습니다. 2026 파리 디자인 위크(@parisdesignweek)에서 건축가 겸 디자이너 릭 프란스 얀센(@rikfransjansen)이 선보인 침대 ‘PLATFORM’입니다. 디자이너 루카스 지토가 기획한 그룹전 〈GOOD SELECTION〉에서 공개된 이 침대는 알루미늄 프로파일로 뼈대를 세우고 그 위에 스테인리스 스틸 패널을 볼트로 체결했습니다. 가구를 만든다기보다 작은 건축물을 짓는 방식에 가깝습니다. 암스테르담을 기반으로 활동하는 얀센은 건축 현장에서는 익숙하지만, 완공과 함께 벽과 천장 속으로 사라지는 재료와 구조에 주목했습니다. PLATFORM에서는 이를 숨기는 대신 적극적으로 드러냅니다. 250 × 220 × 50cm 크기의 침대 곳곳에는 알루미늄 프로파일의 끝과 패널을 잇는 볼트, 접합부가 그대로 노출되고, 낮게 이어진 헤드보드 역시 같은 구조로 완성했습니다. 전원 콘센트까지 내부에 통합해 보통이라면 마감 뒤로 사라질 요소들을 침대의 인상을 결정하는 장치로 바꿨죠. 차갑고 단단한 금속 위에는 베를린의 침구 브랜드 ‘Brut Studios(@brut.studios)’가 부드러운 질감을 더했습니다. 돌과 콘크리트를 떠올리게 하는 패브릭의 절제된 색조는 금속 구조와 자연스럽게 이어지는 동시에, 단단한 프레임과 유연한 직물 사이의 물성 차이를 더욱 또렷하게 드러냅니다.
