Happy pub day to one of the most beautiful humans I know, @jamielynnsigler. 🖤 Two years ago, Jamie’s editor Karen Rinaldi connected us while Jamie’s son was in the hospital with a rare autoimmune disease of the brain. I watched her channel that experience into something wise, raw, and deeply felt. And also WILD! There’s some great Sopranos tea, which I for one can’t get enough of. Her book #ANDSOITIS is out today. Go get a copy! 💫

“A friend of hers discovered a prosthesis for Rell to use after her mastectomy, which she sewed into her bathing suit. Rell called that friend her ‘bosom buddy’. When the prosthesis came undone during a surf session, she combed the beach looking for it. When someone asked her, “Aunty Rell, what are you looking for?” she said, “My boob!” -Excerpt from Surfer Stories, “A Heart Shining Through Darkness” by Karen Rinaldi.

On this final day of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we honor the legendary Rell Sunn, as much a pioneer in surfing as women’s health. When Sunn was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in 1982, she was given one year to live. She would outlive that prognosis by fifteen years, continuing to surf while establishing programs for breast cancer awareness, then a cultural topic of shame in Hawaii.

In honor of Rell and loved ones who have battled breast cancer, please be sure to get your annual mammogram screenings. Early detection is critical. Links to resources and facilities can be found here: https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/nbcf-programs/national-mammography-program/💗💗💗.

Exactly one year ago today you helped us inspire a planet of 2.0 proactive pet parents with our latest book The Forever Dog LIFE.

A recent survey of U.S. dog & cat owners shows the feeding of dry kibble to pets is down to 61% of dogs and 65% of cats. According to the survey researchers -“Somewhat surprisingly (and perhaps alarmingly), the 3rd ranking type of food fed to dogs in this survey is “food I make at home”. And this is exactly why we wrote this book and what we were hoping to achieve!!

To inspire a planet of pet guardians to feed more minimally processed foods to their pets and cut out as much ultra-processed foods as possible!

And because of the global response to the book we achieved that!

We wanted our latest book to be the most unique and innovative how-to guide on raising the longest-lived dogs & cats. We worked with formulators & board certified vet nutritionists to design a never seen before combination of nutrition packed balanced homemade diets giving you over 400 recipe combinations that are in the book and our website.

And now a question for you: Our first book @foreverdogbook was the “Why”, our second book The Forever Dog LIFE was the “How”, if we wrote a third book for you, what would you like to see?
